problem with x-fi ...

hi guys

just installed an x-fi extreme gamer soundcard. Everything's ok but the bass won't work! i set it to headphone and the headphones have perfect base, i set it to 5.1 and my speakers are ok (including the center :S) but the bass woofer just doesn't play anything. When i test it it's fine, playing the sample song or w/e .... help please!

nope, xp home edition

edit : @steph ... when updating it crached out, maybe i'll run the updater again later

im not entirely sure as i dont have a x-fi but most problems with hardware can be directly related to out of date drivers 8/10 times.

Does the bass speaker work on other things? Try it on your CD player or something. Could be a problem with the actual speaker.

yeah, it evenworks with the on-screen creative software where a sound plays from each speaker - just not when i play music etc.
