The report says he was moving too slow for the cops. Same thing happened in the immigration protest. They have the helmets because there are people that will throw shit or fight back. Like bullet proof vests. They wear them everywhere, not because they are going to get shot, but because they might get shot.

thing i always wonder about is that people will often go on about how something should be done about this and then never actually do anything themselves.
The woman in that video was screaming about police brutality, but I doubt she will actually go to the police station and complain (or whatever it is your meant to do about police acting fucked up)

I was initially going to defend the cops in there actions here, because I know alot of LAPD and many of them are good guys that want to help. Even where I work in Watts and Compton on 120th and Wilmington,,, BUT this video is pretty bad. The story is he approached the cops "line". during an minuteman protest so they took him down because he disobeyed orders. To defend the cops in their actions in this event. I would like to say that most of these guys/ ladies see more drama than we could imagine. I have seen at least 10 in King Drew Hospital for gun shot wounds in the last year IE 6 months. I guess what I am trying to say is that it would be hard to act right when put up against what they are fighting,right or wrong... PS. They are not as violent as many of the citizens in LA, and I am all for cracking skulls of the idiots that converge at Hollywood and Vine, or any of the crack heads that I have to deal with. Shit the LAPD deserves a award for having the restrant not to beet every gangsta's/ crack heads ass they coom upon in this city.

Well, some policeman in Queensland beat up an Aborigional so badly he died, and claimed later to have "fallen on top of the Aboriginal" while entering the watchhouse. How the hell do you fall on someone at point blank and kill him?! One of his organs had been pushed to the spinal column.

And guess what? The policeman walked off free.

Except this guy didn't drive over 100mph evading the police and resist arrest afterward even after being tasered and tackled. The police believed King was under the influence of PCP because he was able to throw them off himself. Imo King deserved everything he got. Why?

He was arrested again on charges of spousal assault in 1999. In 2001 he was ordered to undergo a year of drug treatment after pleading guilty to 3 counts of being under the influence of PCP and indecent exposure. On August 27, 2003 he was arrested again on similar charges as his 1991 arrest. King was said to be speeding as he ran a red light while under the influence of PCP, and failed to yield to police officers.

yeah just because someone is shouting he is disabled doesn't make him so, the cops have no idea if he is and it souldn't matter. In the video he seemss to be grabbing some woman.

also if he is mentally disabled and doesn't know what he is doing then who brought him to the Protest ? did someone bring him knowing he will cause a scene ?

the cops have a tough job, obviously, like every job on the planet (president included), there are always going to be some jerks that abuse their power. i don't think you can tar the whole LAPD with the same brush.
