All animals and humans have rights.  We should learn to respect all of them.  I think people don't like PETA or Greenpeace because they act in an extremist way in many senses, and then you have the WWF which IMO is the best organization in the World when it comes to animal rights and biodiversity conservation.
I agree with you. Except for the bit about animals and humans having "rights". I don't think animals or humans have rights, it's more that if something good comes our way we're lucky and we should feel privileged. But I guess my view is bordering on semantic debate...

The WWF sure does do a lot for animals. Those poor things would never get a job outside of wrestling. Seriously though, I think most people are more prepared to listen to other people's views when they present them with facts to back them up. PETA is not very good at making sensible and rational criticism of the livestock industry's ethical standards, so people dismiss them.
LOL I'm like, the WWF?  Professional Wrestling?  wtf?

and then i remembered seeing those old ladies in the library with the handbags with the little panda on them  lol my bad
It's the World Wide Forest -_-

People hate it:
-because they force their opinions to other people
-because they give 20 year old footages as proof of animals being constatnly tortured and aboused
-because they are hypocrits
-because PETA mostly consists of people, who don't have any idea what's going on, it's just popular to be a vegeterian

Strict laws almost everywere around the world forbid torturing of the animals, beef farms are regularly inspected (at least in developed countries), when animals are killed it only takes a short moment.
But PETA insists that they should be freed. Yes, go back to nature, constant fear of being eaten by any animal higher in the foodchain. Nature isn't like a fucking cartoon or something. It's cruel. Hunt for meat, looking for water, walking for tens of miles per day, ... And when the end comes, you don't die quickly and almost without pain. It's a whole different story (including liver, leg bites, being eaten alive, ...)
Eating meat is natural, people are omnivores and no vegan/vegeterian/whatever will change that.

I can understand no fur or testing for cosmetics.

But stopping medical testing to save a specially trained rat is insane. They dug up an old womans grave just because her family reered guinnea pigs to be tested on for cancer reaserch.

But you can definately count on that when a member of PETA has a family member in need of immediate treatment, but the doctor says "well we could cure them, but our drugs that will save her have been tested on animals"
I know for certain the member of PETA first words would be
"GIVE THEM THE DRUGS!"

A prime example is the vice president or something of PETA who has Diabetes

She sure fights those people testing her medication on dogs...
