Hi all and thanks for looking.

The problem I have started when I put in a new replacement BFG 7900GT.
The first was getting too hot, so they send me another and now this.

Is it definitely the card ?

There is no pattern to the crash, it's random.
It could crash right now with just Firefox open.
I get lines down both screens. Then they will start to turn off, then back on.

I have tested my CPU with stabilitytest.
Tested RAM with memtest.
Updated bios.

System:
Intel D 2core  @ 3.4
2Gig Ram
Hyper 580 watt
Gigabyte mobo

Please help if you can,

Thanks.

Sounds like it's overheating. How hot is it getting? If you don't know, download Rivatuner, and that can tell you.

I don't know what type of crash it is, it just locks with lines down the screens.
I have to reset or turn off. Nothing will work.
What is BSOD ?

I use fanspeed, I don't know how good that is, but temps are always under 50C
The nvidia manager shows 10C higher than fanspeed, so I'm not sure which is right.
But either way the GPU doesn't go over 60C and the CPU doesn't go over 40C.

I really am clueless, I just played all night and nothing.
But when I first turned it on today, it crashed within 30 seconds

BSOD = Blue Screen of Death (a blue screen basically)

What are your temperatures according to Speedfan?

I don't get the blue screen, what ever is on the screen stays.

Temps are
Fan1 35C
Fan2 39C

I think fan 2 is CPU. When I did the stability test, it pushed it to 50C

SpeedFan 4.32 is out. This in noway helps you, but...

The temp may be different than the fan #

Fan2 may be your vidcard, however Temp 2 may not be. I think that this is true.
SpeedFan on my computer does not see my vidcards temp.

RivaTuner has an accurate GPU temperature reading that i suggest.(as seen in the bottom graph)

Is your PSU unit powerful enough for your new card, when I upgraded to my GTS 8800 card,
I installed a 700watt PSU as the 400watts one I was using wasn't enough.

What power is your PSU?.
