Is there any other reason?fadedsteve wrote:

Another point he missed. It's useless for business users as the e-mail client doesn't support Exchange.
Edge is a AT&T backed technology. They are partnered with AT&T on the phone, so it uses the inferior Edge technology.buLLet_t00th wrote:

When it comes over to old blighty doesn't every network over here use 3G?Bertster7 wrote:

Orange and T-Mobile both provide Edge (I suppose it should really be EDGE, since it's an acronym, but whatever) services in the UK.buLLet_t00th wrote:

But I don't think AT&T have any UK based mobile service providers. Which will be interesting.
The last I heard (which was a while ago) Telefonica were speaking to Apple and I think they own O2, do they use 3G?Bertster7 wrote:

I've got one and I have to say.
1. It took about 37 hours for it to activate. (because everyone else was trying to at the same time i was)
2. It's awesome
3. On the commercial he makes it look easy to use....and it is. It's so easy to use and so helpful.

...except for all of the glaring faults listed throughout the thread.Scr0k wrote:

Only reason it's so cool is the touch screen thing, really. Otherwise it's not that great, it's just 10 things jammed into one phone.
from what i hear, the best things are youtube, the screen/rotation shiz, and the little things. the internet is slow, UNLESS you are connected to a wifi hotspot...apparently that makes it run considerably faster. i dont have one, and neither does anyone i know. im sticking with my crappy cell phone/old-ass ipod for a while...maybe the 2nd gen of iphones will be better. such as be able to send video/image messages.
You know that since they neglected to make it run flash, it can only run a few youtube vids that've been converted into a quicktime avc format. This means you can't see the vast majority of vids on youtube on it at all (10000 is not a lot when it comes to something like youtube).[TUF]Whiskey_Oktober wrote:

No Java either, which massively limits the amount of portable software you'll see.
It's a gay fashion accessory. That's all. Expect to see them carried by poncy twats, or people who didn't know any better and thought it looked pretty.

Windows MotherFuckers Windows!
I had the PocketPC with the touchscreen and though it was great to have the real-live internet and all that crap, two things drove me up a friggin wall about that touchscreen phone: 1) It was as big as a fucking ACME brick and since I'm not a belt-loop holder nerd, it was heavy as hell in my suit pocket, and 2) it was a bitch to make a phone call when in the car or otherwise occupied.
I got rid of that $600 piece of shit and got a Motorola Q and couldn't be happier.

I have no experience with the Iphone, but people in my state are going ape shit over it. It’s funny because on the web site it says the battery gets fucked up at temps over 96 degrees, and the forecast for the 4th here is 117 degrees. lol
The iPhone is like the PS3, except it doesn't suck completely.
It's too much money - the features aren't that great - INCREDIBLY OVERHYPED

Love it, internet is at a good speed for me, dropped my W810I for it.
Exactly. I have no idea what the fuck they even are, a phone obviously... but....-101-InvaderZim wrote:

Sorry, derailing topic.
You know I did'nt like the iPhone ether for a lot of the same reasons.(Flashy, expensive, and apple product.) But, man I was so wrong. Its fucking awsome. I got to mess around with someone elses and I will have to say its work every fucking penny.
Hate the hype, bit silly not making it 3G I can't even think of an analogy at the moment but yeah.
That in a sentence sums up pretty much all Apple products very nicely.Bertster7 wrote:

wow its kinda bullshit of having it because 99.9% chance of u dropping it and scratching it. and for 600 dollars please u get better stuff then that fake wanna be phone/ipod/computer
okay 3G they didn't put in because it would waste battery life but att put in 50 million into the edge to make it faster all of u expected it to be as fast as your computer personally I love mine its the first apple product ive owned and I love it I dont expect it to run as fast as my pc but it definatly gets the job done.
