Couple problems with new rig...

First off, I hope I didn't fuxx0r my E6600. I tried closing the pin and it wouldn't so I tried a bit harder and the black thing came off (if you have a 680i you know what I mean), but from what I've determined it was supposed to.

ANYWAYS.

I have a Raptor X and a 250 GB Caviar in my new rig. They're SATA 150, so says Newegg. I tried connecting them with one of the 6 SATA cables but that didn't work. However, I was able to connect it to my PSU just fine.

So basically: What do I use to connect my HDDs to my Mobo?

Really can't help you not a clue I remember bending my p4 pins to fuck trying to put it in.

One thing I will tell you though is CALM DOWN I know your dying to get it working don't rush it otherwise it could make matters worse. Computers are gay and fiddly.

If its what I think it is, it should be removed way before you even think about installing a CPU. If you broke it, say goodbye to your warranty (they want it back for some reason )

Nothing, I mean NOTHING happens except a light on the mobo.

LOL, that's what I thought he meant.

Sorry Pos, shouldn't laugh. New rigs can be really frustrating.

As to actually help you, unplug everything from the mobo, apart from the appropriate power supply cables. See if it does anything. If not, you're going to have to RMA it. (I'm assuming you do have a POST speaker hooked up, I know a few cases don't come with them) And as I didn't read the OP well, what mobo is this again?

Is it possible your rams dodgy, as i got a bad stick of ram when i built mine and it just didn't work so the front light came on then nothing happened.

Yeah. Can you try the monitor elsewhere to make sure that it isn't the monitor that is faulty? I doubt the card is faulty, but it could be!

Just tried two monitors, one of which I'm using right now. Used VGA and DVI. Nothing.

I have a friend possibly coming tomorrow, so there's hope for me.

When it asks if you want to install a third party SCSI or RAID, press the appropriate button.

Is there a detailed explanation for that? I know which CD in the mobo you're talking about and I have everything ready.

As said before: How do I get the drivers from the CD to a Floppy? Because still, when I try booting up on the CD, it won't work.

Unless that's not the reason for my monitor getting no signal.

Are you sure you plugged your power supply in to your graphics card? Also, make sure that you plugged the power supply to the four pin auxiliary graphics power (it's near the 24-pin mobo power).

Open your mobo CD, then find the file with SATA in the name.
This is mine, I don't know about yours.

Put this file on a floppy, then put the floppy in your new PC.
When you boot up, you have the option to install a third party SCSI or RAID driver.
I think it says press F6, but I'm not sure.
What ever it says press it.
I can't remember if you have to tell it where the file is, or if it just searches your A: drive.
If doesn't search, just tell it the target.
Example for mine:
A:\bootdrv\gsata [Press Enter]

If I remember right, once this has loaded it will restart and find your hard disc.
Now you can install Windows.

Sounds like CPU/RAM/Mobo issue. Probably RAM.

Try with just one stick.
