Do anyone know what this means?

"HONESTAS VIRTUS FIDELITAS"

I have an american army t-shirt which I traded to me in Holland during the Nijmegen march. Think it's latin.

It's pretty obvious.

Honesty, valor, fidelity.

Though Virtus is a bit of a dodgy one, can be translated as lots of stuff, like virtue.

*HONESTAS*
Honesty is derived from the old French honeste and the Latin honestas , meaning respectability. Honesty therefore implies thinking, speaking, and acting out of deep regard for both oneself and for others. or *Honestas* is the honor that actually resides within the
> person

*VIRTUS*
is a dynamite word, but its first two meanings in Lewis and Short are "manliness" and "manhood."

*FIDELITAS* Means "faithfulness"
More Info
Fidelity is a notion that at its most abstract level implies a truthful connection to a source or sources. Its original meaning dealt with loyalty and attentiveness to one's duty to a lord or a king, in a broader sense than the related concept of fealty. Both derive from the Latin word fidelitas, meaning "faithfulness."

wrong about Virtus there badhq. Vir/Viri are the the latin words for Man/Men.

as for the OP: "HONESTAS VIRTUS FIDELITAS"

"Honesty, Virtue, Faith" Not faith as in  religion, but stick to-it-iveness, so fidelity

What are you talking about?

Everyone who has answered has been correct, there are not direct translations. In any case most of the words used are pretty much synonomous.

Well, since Online Translators do not give 'human translations', I think it was quite OK for him to ask other humans, rather than Google.

To the Romans, manliness and virtue were the same thing.
