sure, though the problem with the error message is gone since 1 day. however, i got a new problem. while playing joint task force my pc rebooted, and while rebooting, it displayed that it couldnt find windows. i then manually restarted the pc, and it loaded windows.

My system:

P4 2.8Ghz
MSI Neo PT880 Neo
Leadtek 6600GT
Maxtor 80 Gigabyte
420 Watt PSU

About the psu:    +5V     -5V      +12V     -12V    +3.3V    +5VSB

                          35A     0.5A      18A      0.8A     32A       2A

Have you had any other issues with any other games? Your system specs are quite poor and you have an awful PSU!

if it still dont work and you have no idea how to solve the problem, I sugess you just make a full recovery to your computer....

yeah, a bad power supply in your pc at high performance i think could cause data corruption, so that may be your problem

my harddrive is like 1 year old. yea, ppl told me my psu could be the problem, but since it only occurs randomly i thought its a software problem.

well, it may seem random, but it might not be, does it only happen when your playing games?

OK.

Just asking because Maxtor drives often start messing up early. I've got a couple of crappy old Maxtors with the $MFT totally fucked. You can try and fix them, but they don't work for long without starting to go badly wrong.

If it's only a year old it's probably not that.

I wouldn't be too concerned about the power rating of your PSU, but the quality could be a factor. If it is not functioning properly that could account for odd behaviour. But a 420W supply, even one with pretty crap current ratings, should be fine for you.

yea, only when i play games. my mom told me she had it that the screen (while using programs such as word) went off and straight on again, but thats it.
