Hey guys, I was just wondering if anyone knew any helpful information about H2B Temporary Work Visa's.

I've read all the official stuff so I don't need links to that and I am waiting for a phone call back from the Global Visa Office. Work have granted me a 4 month career break next year, And I plan to work whilst I'm over there. Has anyone done this or know someone who has?

I know it has to be a job that an American citizen doesn't want, but to be honest I've done some crappy jobs in my time so anything would be cool!

Any info would be a great help! Thanks in advance guys!

Good luck trying to get it. They typically run out early in the year and people have to reapply next year. You also have to find your job first, then be sponsored by a company, you can't just get a generic H1 and then come find a job. I work with a bunch of Indians, Pakis and other assorted asians and my ex-girlfriend had to go through the process. It's long and a pain.

Do you have a profession already? If so, start applying for jobs online now. You may not want to mention that it's only for 4 months as no company will want to sponsor an H1 if they don't think it'll be long term. It'll also most likely have to be something white-collar. We have (literally) millions of Mexicans waiting for the blue-collar jobs over here.

Good luck.

Cheers I was wondering, I needed someone to tell me how it is like this before I started investing time and effort into looking into it. I am a Police Officer over here in the UK and my force has to chop some of its labour costs most years, so they offer people career breaks to save money. Maybe I'll just save up a load of cash and spend a month or so over there with my gf. Thanks!
