Whenever you shoot and succesfully hit some and damage them a little X pops up on your crosshairs. Right? Well, I never see that "X". So it sucks when i snipe and i dont know that i hit them. How do i get that "X" to pop up? I have a 7600GS an AMD Athlon 3500+ and a gig or ram.
I never knew you could get rid of it.
I dont think it is related to your system specs though.

Is it only with sniping? hold the fire button down after shooting for a second and it will keep the scope up and you'll see if your hit registered or not.
Nope for ALL weapons vehicles etc. Although i "sometimes" see it when i arty the enemy. And no reinstalling wont help.

If it's only when sniping it's because you aren't holding the button down long enough
hold the left-clicky button to stay scoped and see the "X" if you hit
Edit: oh... erm.... you have a fucked up BF2?
idk, maybe there's some button that can get rid of it... like when you hit "alt" it gets rid of flags and claymore warning sign thingies

check your settings in the options tab, maybe it's turned off.
is it even possible to turn it off and on?S.Lythberg wrote:

I know its an option for servers to turn off the hit indicators.. Dunno if thats allowed for ranked servers though, does this happen on every server you play on?NeXuS4909 wrote:

you can turn it off? if you can, i'm gonna turn mine off...S.Lythberg wrote:

I didn't think so, but I haven't tried either.NeXuS4909 wrote:

Thats really the only thing i can think of though.
Have you changed the colour of your crosshair? Maybe thats caused a problem.
Every server its off. Bf2 sandbox mod project reality SF. Its pretty annoying to have off.
this may be a dumb question, but can you see your normal crosshairs? because the "X" is the color of your crosshairs, so if you can't see that, then maybe that's why you can't see the "X"
damn you reaper, beat me

If your HUD is on, then you should see it.
The only way to get rid of it is to get rid of the HUD. I think.

Alright i changed resolutions and reset to defaults. I went to karkands and SVD'd a guy in the head and i got 2 points and the little X thanks guys.
My clan server used to have it after we played PR and went back to SF, having it off was VERY annoyingLT.Victim wrote:

Yes, and I find it great and very useful, especially in long range armor duels!!! Tampa ftw!!!!!!!!!!!1NeXuS4909 wrote:

>>>BF3 Central<<<
you can see it by hitting the enemy
I'm not sure, but there is an option in bf2cc which says: show hit indicator, so maybe you just play on the server that hasn't enabled it.
Othewise, change the color of your crosshair, and maybe you'll see it then. (doesn't work in most jets though)

If it's on all servers I think you might have it turned off. I don't think PR has it turned on, I think they disable it. I might be wrong here, haven't booted it up in a while. Check your settings and see if theres something in there.
I've never seen it, but to be honest i don't mind as i think it would just annoy me to be honest, mind you i've also turned off the crosshairs completely.
i do the same occasionally, so much fun.Noobeater wrote:

I think I have a similar problem, but it might just be me not watching as closely for it anymore. Either way I rarely see the X. The funny thing is that when I seem to notice it, it doesn't count. 5 or more X's and the enemy is still running around, or no X's and they are D E D ded. But there is a solution, keep shooting until you know they are dead.
