Well, I can now, having just watched Alan Johnston give his first press conference since his release, say some more.

He appeared to be in good health, was amazingly composed, and spoke of how well he was treated by his kidnappers. He said that from the start they said that there would be no violence against him and that, on the whole, they kept to that promise. He spoke of how he was able to get a radio, listened to the BBC world service, and how comforting it was to be able to hear of all the support and calls for his release from all around the world.

This is an amazing day, not only for Alan and his family but also for Hamas and the Palestinian people in general.
