Any one know how to get rid of sticky keys? when I hold down the same key in certain games (not BF2 or 2142) I get the boot! Sticky keys options menu appears and I uncheck everything, than the same thing happens over and over again but instead of the sticky keys menu popping up I get Runtime error!

System:
windows xp sp2
e4300 @ 2.54 ghz
1gb ddr
6800 gs unclocked
any help would be appericated! ps I have tried disabling sticky keys and using some googled reg hacks nothing works for me.

just hammer the shift key now till it pops up then go to the settings page it shows you, select disable and clicky ok and voila, problem solved

Ah shit, ....lol..I thought this post go help me with.............................................

My son knocked a can of coke onto my keyboard, thought I cleaned it up, but now some of the keys go down but not back up. Wondering, whats a good cleaner, rubbing Alcohol???

Ive tried every combination of sticky key settings I could, now you can hit shift 1000 times and nothing which is good, but if im in game holding in ctrl steadly boots me with a "visual c++ runtime error"

if u click settings, just untick all of the boxes on all of the options, then u will never see it again

If it is not a wireless keyboard, then try the following.

1. unplug keyboard.
2. take it into the shower.
3. wash it with the shower water. Hot watered prefered. Make sure you get rid of the stickyness.
4. Dry the keyboard COMPLETELY before plugging it back in the computer. I mean shake it out hard, not drops left coming out. Really dry it.
5. Plug said keyboard back in and try it out.

Yes, a keyboard can be exposed to moisture for short periods of time without serious harm. As long as it is not plugged in.

Haha. I remember at school if we had to use the computer rooms we got the whole class constantly pressing shift and enter to make the bleeping noise. Try it out!!

Got my English teacher (Who is a HUGE American from Florida) to go berserk, he didn't know how it was happening!

imortal, you could also try removing the keys around the affected area, and then rub to clean it, just dont spill or get moisture down the holes which lead to the circuit board

That was the first thing I tried. I dont see sticky keys anymore just Runtime error!

Yes, and I have done that before, too. But first wash it out. Never underestimate the damage I can do when I pull out a screwdriver!
