I can't decide where to post this. Not the best material for debate, too funny, but at the same time too serious for junk drawer.

It seems all these radicals are really dumb. Or desperate. Let's see, there was London when the idiot hit a couple of bins, alerting everybody and their grandmother that something's wrong, then there was Glasgow where the fools managed to get stuck on some bollards and then one even managed to torch himself up. And now a cleric of a radical mosque trying to pose as a girl. One starts to wonder about the IQ of your average extremist.
Now we can debate two things. First is, it looks like Pakistan is really starting to crack down on extremists. Seems like Musharraf is afraid for his position. Who do you think will win? Is the army loyal to Musharraf(I'm not that familiar with the situation in Pakistan)?
Second is this cleric's choice of clothing. Should burqas and other dresses(niqab or whatever it was called) that cover the face totally be banned? Anyone remember that scandal with Jack Straw when the media reported that he asked his constituents(is that the correct term?) to take off the veil while talking to him. Or that thing with the teacher not wanting to take it off in class. Would the Muslim community protest and claim it is discrimination? This is a bit different in my opinion than for example headscarves or to look at another religion, the Sikh turbans, they don't cover the face.
If the cleric didn't "have a pot belly" he might have gotten away. Discuss either or both.
EDIT: Things seem to be heating up: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/south_asia/6271894.stm

Now the funny part:BBC wrote:
The deputy commissioner of police in Islamabad, Chaudhry Muhammad Ali, described how Abdul Aziz tried to escape wearing the all-enveloping dress worn by Muslim women.
"The maulana came out of the mosque with a group of girls wearing a burqa and carrying a handbag. The girls protested when he was stopped. But officers were suspicious and after a search, Maulana Abdul Aziz was identified and arrested," he told the BBC.
ROFL. They seem to have some observant security personnel .BBC wrote:
Another security official told AFP that the cleric had been picked out because of his "unusual demeanour".
"The rest of the girls looked like girls, but he was taller and had a pot belly," the official said.
