Actually I really want to know the answer. Does anyone know what purpose it serves?

- Why does the F-35B have a booger on its nose?
antena?
Its part of a sensor array in the real jet. I believe the real lfe F-35's radar can track multiple targets.
It's a ram for use against Blackhawks (the designers didn't realise the blackhawks were friendly).
No. It's a pitot.
In real life, the pitot tube typically serves the purpose as a barometer, measuring the air pressure outside. I believe it may have something to do with an altimeter as well, but it's been 4-5 years since I took my flight science course.
CORRECTION: My bad. Pitot tubes serve to measure airspeed, not air pressure.

That seems highly plausible, but how do you know? Do you know why it has such a funny shape?S.Lythberg wrote:

actually he's right. Pitots are air measuring devices, n00b.san4 wrote:

its the penis.
but seriously, its either the pitot tube as cowami suggested, or the radar sensor. but im pretty sure its the former, because based on what i learned in AFJROTC (Air Force Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps), the pitot tube is normally under the wing near the fuselage (body of the plane). also, it just doesnt LOOK like a pitot tube. it LOOKS like a radar sensor to me.
i must say though, those JSF's are some damn sexy jets.

Used to measure airspeed, altitude at whatnot.

"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
Take that, san.
Now now, guys, go easy on him. Not everyone can be experts about aircraft like the rest of us.

well, yeahh... but everyone CAN (or at least has the ability to and should have the brains to) use wikipedia or google. so therefore, we have a reason to make fun of him. and here i go again:cowami wrote:

BWAHAHAHAHA!
Yeah but I use Wikipedia.cowami wrote:

+1 news anyone?
its not a pitot tube, the pitot tube is on the body of the aircraft usually under the wing on the passenger side (right hand side)
Actually it is a piece of flight test equipment. If the designers of the game would have done their homework they would have known it would not be on the production model.
I feel totally pwned here! How could I be so stoooooopid?san4 wrote:
