Cheap, sturdy and works like a charm... especially the throttle... Does the trick very well and the hat is very usefull for switching views...

Since I use this baby people have a hard time shooting me down...

Now I need to learn to bomb, because flying for 30 minutes is just not enough.
Wow, that one looks perfect!! But its to big for my tiny table, bearly got room for my new Cyborg evo!
Gues I could make room for it if i put away the keybord when im flying tho. But theres no way back now as I just got one!

Bah, dont post more pictures of good looking joy stick toys! Im about to go crazy now lol..

oh, look at that one

That one is called the Saitek USB Stick And Throttle Joystick which is the most expensive joystick I have seen in retail stores.  It is great, but certainly not a necessity.

Although it will last a long time since it uses non-contact controls, also that screen looks awesome. Jew Signfeld, what do you use that screen for?

lol, yea was wondering about that screen to and why the whole thing is in two parts? Two parts means two cables, or is it wireless? Maybe one wireless part and one part with cable?

CackNBallz, dunno if ur having this problem, but when I play with (any) joystick I flip the whole thing over when i make a quick move sometimes. lol, maybe its just me (still a bit noobish with joystick).

Anyways, im getting the hang of it now. Doing stunts in the air!
Still having some roblems with dropping my bombs at the right place, gues i need more training.

That is the Saitek X52 in the picture.  I actually have the version just prior to this one which is the X45.  The only functional difference between the X52 and the previous versions is that with the x52 the rudder is controlled with the Z axis or joystick twist.  All previous versions including my X45 have an actual rudder switch that resides on the bottom side of the throttle which I REALLY like.  I don't like the Z axis twist thing.  Oh and I don't have the nifty screen.

To answer your cable question.  The throttle actually plugs into the joystick and then the joystick connects to your computer.

Though I love the Saitek controllers I am having trouble with my X45 in BF2.  All of my buttons and axis map jsut fine except for Axis 1 (Pitch Up/Down).  I just can't get BF2 to map it.  I play BF1942 quite a bit and my controller works fine in there.  Well that's not completely true.  A fan created a custom air.con file to be used in BF1942 and BFV.  Anyway it works.  Just hoping something simular can be done for BF2.  I REALLY want to use my Saitek to fly.

for everyone that has a saitek of any kind: dont ust the softwear to cal' you stick. i have the cyborg evo and when i tried to cal' it with the s/w it sucked. just go to the aircraft ops in bf2 and use the alt. if you look at a post i made in this thread youll see what i mean. all you have to do is high light the function you want and press the button on the stick you want to be used with it. for the pitch up push forward and pitch down pull back and so on. again i hope this was a help. if anyone has any trouble just let me know and ill give you my teamspeak info and ill do what i can to help out.

I picked that one up so I could get my aviator badge, and let me tell you, the stick is a work of art.  Although it took some time to configure it and get used to it, I was extremely pleased with it.  It is self centering and I can map every button to it so I never have to let go of the stick to do something else.

Yes, it's overkill...   But now I want to try some flight sims with it because it's very cool.  I do have to keep trying it with a heli, but I got used to using the mouse and keyboard with it.

If you want to be a good pilot, I highly recommend the Saitek's.  They all seem to be well made.

you don't need joysticks.... sure it could be easier but i don't have one and i can chase down any 1 and i can drop bombs pretty nicely... so it's up to you.

Much, much easier with a stick.  Although it takes tons of practice.  I cant believe how good some of these peeps are.

I also have the Saitek Cyborg Evo. But when I turn my joystick right, the plane goes left. Any ideas what's wrong?

I have a throttle question.  I set up my joystick for both helos and airplanes, and everything works great except for the throttle.  It seems that the throttle works just like the w/s buttons in that the top half is foreward and the bottom half is reverse.  The airplanes have a reverse but it is not very useful and in addition since you stall at slow speeds only the top 25% or so of the throttle is used.  With the helos they dont have a reverse so only the top half of the throttle is used.  I wish I had more precise control.  Is there any way around this?

hehe, that did happen to me, but when it did I just reset the controlls and set up like it was again manualy. I worked for me.

Worth a try?
