-I recently got a new video card to upgrade the system. Without installing any new drivers for it, I started BF2. The video settings were amped up to Medium (vast improvement from the low) with shadows on. The shadows of all things was a humongous square. This offered a big advantage in SP, because those sneaky bots run around corners and I can always anticipate them with their blob of a shadow heading my way. This is an excellent way to locate enemies.

However, after updating my drivers for the video card, this all changed, and thankfully the shadows were normal.

-Another case was with the game itself, I think, but it stopped after a few rounds. It provided me a major advantage -- a decent view of the enemy -- and an even greater disadvantage -- no hills meaning I could be setting up a sniper shot and hit the dirt instead and I couldn't climb or drive on hills as easily.

I often had to leave servers and re-join so as to play a normal game. And that was a pain with the poor system I used to play on. I didn't even Alt-Tab during the loading.

Do any of you guys think bugs with the game could be considered exploits?

I'd say it was definitely an exploit.

If you find something like that, that gives you an advantage over other players, and deliberately use it then you are exploiting that fact.

Theres a way to make your game do that on purpose.  It is helpful in someways, but unhelpful in others.

Did you find whenever there was an explosion near you, you couldnt see a thing?

One day i set my video settings all up one level, and this ensued
there is no way its an exploit, its simply a GFX glitch when i put my settings too high for it
