OK, here's the deal, vote for whichever of these services you would fight for, I've been having a dicussion with some of my friends about whom they'd rather join. Political and national stance do not count, vote for whom you believe to have the best training, equipment, weapons, tactics etc, that would encourage you to join. Remember don't vote simply because its you're country's forces or because you don't agree with the politics of either the US or UK.

US Army. Not just because I live in the U.S., my family has always served in the military.

Honestly I'd rather go with the RAF as an intelligence officier as its something that I'm thinking of doing if all my other plans die, so I voted british army as I'd join as an officer there if my choices were limited to those, probably in intelligence somewhere nice and relatively safe.

You'll have to use null vote I'm afraid, I didn't put in a 'None of the above' option because that wasn't included in my original discussion with my mates, just keeping it the same as the original discussion .

It's not like anyone from America will vote for the British army, or anyone from Britain would vote for Americas army.

To much to ask, obviously this being an American forum with a large amount of Americans, we can take a wild guess at who would win.

Anyway... British army, because that's where I'm off next year.

Royal Marines Commando, I think.

Although serving for the US would be tempting, 'cos they actually get all their equipment and whilst (from what I've heard from friends in the army) the British army cooks tend to be better, the American cooks get provided with better stuff to cook.

Food is important.

If I had to then it would be the US ARMY. Firstly because I'm from America. Secondly they get all the new and cool and protective equipment first; well before the Marines get their hands on it.

Apparently our equipment sucks balls. I mean it would be fine if they sucked balls if they weren't sent to places for no reason (why would you need expensive kit if you're not going anywhere). BUT If you're going to be a fucking loonatic and invade countries, Prime Minista, than give them the kit. Don't be an all round twat.

Anyway these types of threads are stupid.

Yeah, if I had to, I would go to the States to serve with the USMC. But since I'm Canadian, I'd serve my country by joining the CF.

British forces are generally stand-up soldiers (from my limited experience around them) - but they have 'shit for kit', so to speak.
The men are great, the equipment they get is lacking. (As compared to the US standard.. which can be a little short sometimes too).
The big stuff is good. All the key bits, tanks, jets etc.

It's when it comes to the little things, boots, body armour etc. that the British army fails somewhat.

SAS falls under British Army
Delta Force and the like  - US Army
SEAL's - Dunno, guess you could relate them to USMC
SBS - Same as above just with RM

That begs a question, do you have to be a Marine to be in the SEAL's or SBS.

I think the SAS do most of their recruiting from the Royal Marines Commando though....

Radios are said to be one of the biggest problems, I have noticed a few examples of the new body armor that they have, but I don't think its widely distributed.

I'd be worth a try lol.
I think they recruit mostly from the paras, could be wrong though.

Here's the new gunner body armor,

That's pretty much what my uncle did.

Though he said it in a normal way. I would imagine.
