For all of you people who are not satisfied with the current P35 boards, (like me) ASUS just updated thier site with their brand new upcoming products! Although, they are not out yet, I belive they have updated thier site because they are due to be out very soon!

THE P5K3 Premium/WiFi-AP featuring onboard 2GB of DDR3-1333 RAM fully outfitted with heatpipes based on the P35:
http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3& … odelmenu=1

The most EXCITING OF ALL! THE BLITZ EXTREME! THE NEXT ROG MOTHERBOARD LINE UP!!! Utilizing DDR3 memory, sad news is however, the site has not been updated with its smaller brother, the Blitz Formula, which is supposed to have DDR2 instead of 3. Im just waiting for the Blitz Formula anywayz, DDR3 is way too new and expensive:

http://www.asus.com/products.aspx?l1=3& … odelmenu=1

However, in the ROG section of the ASUS Website, there does not seem to be any of the Blitz appearing, only in this products section, we can however, expect them to be out very soon if theyre on the ASUS website.

VERY HAPPY

Edit : Is it not a coincidence that thier site was updated just after exactly one moth since the June 4th Taipei Computex show?

WE CAN NOW FINALLY STOP SPECULATING AND READ THE SITE TO LEARN ABOUT THE REAL FEATURES THE BLITZ BOARDS HAVE!!!!! IM SO EXCITED WOOT WOOT

They both look amazing.

Shame I've only had my P5K Deluxe for a week!

Any details on the timings of the RAM on the one with it built in? OCing to 1600 is all very well and good but if the timings are shitty it's not going to be the that great. I think I might wait for the DDR2 blitz board like you.

EDIT: james whats the OCing like on that P5K? My bros buying one soon.

After a quick look at the bios it looks pretty straight forward.

But it's my first time with this kinda thing so probably even easier!

I've got some pics of the bios if you want

The Blitz uses Crossfire technology, much like my current P5W DH Deluxe! I am excited for the Blitz, it will definetely be well received.

Nah its cool, Asus Bios' don't change much :p I was just wondering if it actually manages better CPU speeds than the P5B Deluxe.

Oh one thing i do need to know, the heatsink on the Northbridge, can you fit a fan to it? and would it be 40mm or 60mm?

No you can't. I was just looking at that, thinking of getting a heatsink for it - then I remembered that both the north and south bridge are covered by the copper heatsink on the board.

As you can see on those pics that I took  now just for you! - a fan wont fit on there.

You sure? Looks good enough to fit a 40mm on to me. It'd be better with a different CPU cooler that thing eats half the case lol.

Shurup! That CPU cooler is great!

I've had a look....how would I fit a 40mm fan to that heatsink?!

Or am I missing something....?!   (most likely!)

On top with 4 screws , just push the threads between the fins. The other less desirable option is adhesive.

And I know the coolers good, it's just as fat as Bernard Manning

Would a 40mm fan like this making much difference to the mobo temp if it was attached to the heatsink like I've posted in the picture above?

that should work nicely. I had a black 40mm (scavengered from an old P3 heatsink) stuck to my power regulators for a long time. Dropped the temps by 20°C. Now that I finally run a good case again it isn't needed anymore

I have that very same fan on my current northbridge, it replaced a stock fan and it got me a 6*c drop, and the lights are pretty , as theres no fan at all on your mobo I'd expect even more of a drop.

Edit: pressed 3 instead of 6 lol.

For my current northbridge, I have a fan that is "built for use with watercoolers only" - my temperatures in both system and motherboard have dropped dramatically! it is a stock asus one, but it is brilliant and makes little to no noise!

Oh the little blower thing? Yeah you can't fit that with a big CPU cooler. Bloody annoying on a P5B Deluxe as you cant fit a fan to the NB heatsink either so the fkin thing cooks.

More news: ASUS has officially announced it in a press release, should be seeing it in retail stores in just a couple days, be advised there will be 3 versions and not 2 as previously speculated, there will be the:

Blitz Extreme which runs DDR3 memory and has a NB Watercooling device,
Blitz Formula (without the NB Watercooling and DDR 2 memory only) and the,
Blitz Formula Special Edition which has the NB Watercooling but has DDR2.

Not if the water doesn't directly come in contact with the electric components.
