Very true. I'm just counting it as a small victory. Call it a single battle won in the war - and in this case, it's a miserable little isle somewhere way out of the way, but it's a morale booster.

True. It's insignificant, but see the above reply to d4rkst4r's post. It's not the ribbon I was bragging about, it's the small victory of getting a real response from someone and getting them to fix something, no matter how insignificant.

I was outside right after I sent that request to them. Are you saying typing a support request is something that requires a lot of time and effort? You make it sound like, in trying to solve a problem a lot of people are having, I was locked on my computer for hours upon hours trying to just get a measly ribbon.
I just proved that the Middle East Service Ribbon is indeed bugged, in getting ahold of support when I figured I ought to have had it, and getting a real reply saying 'yes, yes you should'. There's a lot of speculation on this and other sites on what the requirements are for it, or if the damn thing is bugged - and with this proof, I've shown that it is INDEED bugged.


Considering there's 4 frigging pages of replies and I'm lazy, I'm going to stop here and see what other comments I feel like replying to.

This is the last batch I plan to reply to. I'm getting bored and want to PLAY the damn game now instead of just talk about it.

You missed out on the subtleties to my request. See my last post for what I was really aiming at. As for the begging, that was to get the request passed on to someone who'd actually reply instead of giving a canned response. The key to dealing with support guys is to make a big fuss over something, even if it's small, to get them to really help you to keep your business. I didn't post the handful of short questions I sent them before this - each of which received a canned response rather than someone actually helping me. Through implied aggravation I was able to achieve my goal, which was for someone to actually get off their lazy ass and help me rather than copy-paste some generic response from a list of responses.

That's what I was trying to figure out. Whether it was actually broken or just different stats than the Far East ribbon. If it was just different stats, then I'd have left them alone. I couldn't get a straight answer from them for a while though, due to those auto replies they send everyone.

That's funny, i asked for the same thing, but i only got a not so beautiful big tittied naked man to fall out of the sky.
I emailed EA about the problem and they said that he would be fixed in the new 1.5 patch.

Hope you've got a spare room then. That guy's gonna be there for a while...

I just concentrated on this small issue. It's now proven that that award is broken for some people. I figure if I got into bugging them over and over about something like the coding, I'd be putting in more effort than I'd care to put into for a game. This was easy to whip up whenever I had a few minutes of free time and felt like bugging them about it till I got a real answer.

Well, I know for a fact the [spec-ops] servers are up and giving out stats. I had ~2000 points left till Staff Sergeant at the beginning of last week and I'm down to 923 left now. I'd have gotten my next rank, but I was too busy being out and about - as Suicidal has suggested in this thread.

I'm hoping this info I've provided here will help show that it is indeed broken, and maybe that guy will report it. I dunno though. At least it'll help show other players that it is a broken award, since the guy had to pin it to my account manually..

Yeah. I made it all up. Right. I'm a lazy bastard.. I spent -maybe- five minutes per e-mail to them now and then. I don't have the time or the inclination to make up something like this. I'm just happy EA actually responded to one of us with more than a copy-paste reply and that I've proven the ribbon's broken. This thread wasn't about getting the ribbon on my stats. It was about those two prior subjects. It's pretty sad I had to spell that out for you. I would've thought it was implied.

uh.. ok.. seriously guys.. Please stop sending me PMs asking what the dude's e-mail address is. I don't know how to get ahold of him directly. I went through EA Support for each request I made, usually getting a different person every time. So stop asking if I have his e-mail and go put in a bunch of support requests yourselves! Gad damn....
