I have a 7900GS 256MB and I heard it should idle at about 40 degrees Celsius with no load. At 100% load, it should run about 67 degrees Celsius.
Right now, it's idle, no load, and it's at 67 degrees Celsius. Is this a normal temp for it being idle.

I've overclocked it to 563MHz for the Core, and 770 (1540) for the memory.

I have it overclocked a bit so maybe that's the problem. Should I got back to stock speeds and see the temp?

i'd say it's worth a try mate, if not just bump the clocks back up again

Okay, I put it down to 500 core, 690 Memory, and it's still idling at 67 degrees. Should I wait a bit for it to cool down?

I'm running speed fan as well, and I noticed my CPU, and both cores, are running about 55 degrees. Is that normal? They have a fire symbol beside them

I have 4 fans according to SpeedFan, and only 2 of them are running

Weird. My computer must just be hot. It's not malfunctioning so I guess it's fine. I lowered the clock speeds to stock, and it idles at 62 degrees now.

How do you keep those speeds at 100%? Mine seem to drop down to 60% and 30% everytime I open speedfan.

if you've got any modems or anything (unused) taking up PCi slots, get rid of them. That'll increase airflow

lol Oh well.

And my Fan 1 is only running at 2075 rpm. This is weird.

i'm guessing that must be the heatsink because i have no fans other than heatsink/gfx cooler in my pc

When I send it in for annual maintenance, they can check it out, see if anything is wrong.

You could try putting a new layer of thermal paste on to cool it down if you have adjusted the fan before or anything. My X1900XT runs at 53C and it produces a lot of heat.

I have a 7900GS in my laptop that, with fans running on high constantly, idles around 48-52 and when playing bf2 for a while gets up to 65-73. Im trying this ATiTools thing and i'll let you know what comes up once it finishes detecting stuff..

I think 67 degrees for my video card is fine though, it's not like its constantly 80 degrees or anything like that.
