You can fire thermite as an engineer in SF .. you just need the right hack. ===>switch_teargas_for_thermite hack.

Actually, the Scandinavians used Molotovs fairly successfully in their war against the USSR. Although, the Russians weren't the most adept at armored warfare!
Molotovs won't actually destroy the tank, the idea is to force the crew out.
Granted, there are better ways to take them out, but they require more resources and technical know-how.

You kow, you can just send a bunch of a-10s.
J-10s work better.thtthht wrote:

Everything you said just got owned by that wikipedia article.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:
no matter how high you elevate yourself, it wont be high enough. I know our tanks could easily stick the gun out pointing to the moon.
if you are gonna wanna take out a 3 vehicle tank convoy youre gonna have to outnumber it with at least 3 to 1 in terms of personell. say 4 men per tank, youll want at least between 30 and 40 infantry.
this is if you want to take out the element. chances are, it will hurt you more than them in the long run. tanks are easily replaceable, insurgents arent. so, most likely, you wont see this kind of a scenario in the real world. unless you got a bunch of suiciders.
if you want to disrupt combat ops, use an ied and take off running. dont stick around a fight that you know you cant win. and the lead vehicle is not the optimum to take out for that mission. i feel like im sharing too much. its all stupid anyway, once the first tank gets hit, the area will most likely be saturated with air support from gunships and any other ground elements in sector.
these are pretty good instructions on how to get kiled by a tank convoy.
Suck on that haters!!1Wikipedia wrote:
"The large convoy of the 81st brigade drove down Pervomaiskaya Street, stretching out along the road for a mile. When the first vehicles reached the Presidential Palace, the column was ambushed and came under heavy fire from Chechen small arms and rockets, directed from the roofs and basements along the street. The Chechen ambush would typically funnel the Russian armored columns into "kill zones", and then the RPG gunners would knock out the first and last vehicles in the line, thereby trapping the rest in the middle. Almost useless in an urban combat, Russian tanks were unable to elevate their tank barrels high enough to engage the top floors of many buildings, or low enough to fire into the basements."
I think i'll make a revised version based on some peoples idea that tanks are magical behemoths that are invulnerable to all forms of weaponry...but not just now, I've only just got up.

How about an army of termites which crawl down the barrel of their guns and block it up so when they fire it blows the tank up???Roger Lesboules wrote:

Or maybe even a blow up doll maybe?
You'd have to design some kind of condom firing machine so that you don't have to come out of cover. (The way I worded that... )InfectiousShadow wrote:

Hmmmm well you could just put some condoms on a Nerf dart with a dart gun and use that. It would work...I think.Larkin wrote:

All wrong. So very wrong.
Step one identify threats and weaknesses.
Threat = Tank + Guns
Weakness = surplus of tanks and love of larders + vodka
Step two
Swap larders from the scrap yards + vodka for the tank
Step 3
Invasion canceled due to us having the tanks and the Russians being drunk.
Step 4
Russians retreat slowly in crap cars.

You may win the battle with that strategy, but the Russians will win the war! The Russians will just pour more and more tanks into the city until victory is assured. You have to run out of ammo sooner or later.

Not if you have a support gunner with you...unlimited ammo ftwSentinel wrote:

Unless his RPK backfires, or his grenade spamming goes wrong.
Funny how everyone hates on Islamic insurgents, but when it's against the Russians (Chechnya, Afghanistan) it's all "hell yeah kick their ass". I don't understand how you can hate Russians that much.
What shit did you eat during the cold war, most of you here including me were born at the end of it anyway, so what shit are you listening to from your dads/uncles.

The tanks may have Infantry assigned to them. What about thses elements? How would you ''personally'' deal with these while you are taking out an armoured tank division with your rpg crew?
This isn't about hating Russians its about knowing what to do when those damn commie bastards come parachuting in to take over! I'm kiddin' of course.Mekstizzle wrote:

I suggest throwing cookies to distract them. I dunno, It depends whether the convoy is in attack formation or just moving from A to B because if they are just moving from A to B then the troops are likely to be mounted in APCs/Light Armoured Vehicles...and we (the insurgents) can capitalise (as we are renound for doing) on the confusion, and wtfpwn them before they have a chance to dismount and get into defensive positions.daddyofdeath wrote:

If the infantry's are a bunch of sissy's they will stick close to the tank for protection..but if you blow the tank up..guess who gets owned with the tank....and plus the Russki's might already be drunk....alot of Russians who were sent to Chechnya were normal people who were drugged and drunk until they lost consciousness and sent to the battlefield where they woke up and were like WTF?Larkin wrote:

This is not the fucking Cold War. The Russians aren't going to invade and risk nuclear war. No one wants nuclear war.Larkin wrote:
