none of the 7 should have been made within the last 100 years.  the christ the redeemer statue must be a joke right?  I mean it big and grandeur and all, but a friggin wonder?  Was its construction really that important to the worlds architecture?

Here here. Not a mention of any of the colossal and innovative bridges that the world has seen built over the past 200 years.

Should not a wonder be something that is a marvel of architecture or whatever and important? The wonders of the ancient world were unequalled in their time, a phenomenone that actually makes them...a wonder.

Schloss Neuschwanstein should have been in there.
Agreed, and not just because I've played Gabriel Knight 2.

In my opinion, the number of 'official' wonders shouldn't be restricted to a number as arbitrary as seven. I didn't even know about this vote until it was already done...tell me, were the leavings of mankind's trip to the surface of the moon on that list? If that isn't a wonder, I don't know what is.

Cool--six of the seven I voted for "won."  For the seventh, I voted for Stone Henge and not Christ the Redeemer Statue.  I didn't get that one.  Of course, it might have won due to reports of Latin American ballot stuffing.

I wonder what qualifies a structure to become a world wonder, is it age, size etc?
It has to be man made and allot of people must vote for it in the internet.
