Hmm, I'd leave it to the professionals but if you're confident you can do it then go for it. Just be careful about being clean, like you said. Tattoos that get infected are fucking nasty.

Urgh could get bad if your doing it yourself from all the movement from the pain!

I'd go for a nice big, red "2" personally!

Every single self done tattoo I've seen has looked fucking shite, and faded 15 times faster than a proper one, fork out the cash for a professional.

yeah, although I'm never going to get a tattoo, get a professional to do it. that way, you are unlikely to get infected.

Well, the thing is, im only 15 and i cant get a tattoo till probly 17.

I've seen a LOT of home-made tattoos.  They are one step BELOW jail house tattoos.

Seriously, wait a while. What you think is cool now will haunt you later in life.

Some of my mates had tattoos when they were your age and they spent fortunes later trying to cover them up.

Dont take me wrong here, I am not against tattoos, I have one myself so why would I be. All I am saying is that it can be a mistake so early in life to have one that you think is cool. What is the legal age for a tattoo in you country anyway? It may be worth waiting till you are old enough and get a decent one then.

As someone already pointed out, self tattoos are one step up from prison tattoos which look crap. Especially to the opposite sex. It could affect your sex life

Dont forget a tattoo is for life not just for christmas (or is that meant to be about dogs).

If you're getting a home-made tattoo you don't have anything to say if it goes wrong. What would your fried do if he f¤¤¤¤d up while lining or colored it?? A proffesional will know what to do, so if I were you I'd let the pro's do the work. Then you have a good result for life. I have a great amount of ink all over my body arms, chest, neck, legs, shoulders and even groin... and I wolud never ever let a friend do that. No matter how good friend he/she is.

I did a self tat when i was 13, a cross on my left arm.  do not do it!! it will look like shit. you wont have the steady hand and nice equipment to make it look nice.  and are you really going to want a 2 on your ankle in 10 years?  leave it to the pros.
