GRAAAHAAGH. Shut the hell up, to put it bluntly.

Pretty soon it's going to devolve into a number of topics asking "why is x obsessed with y being obsessed with x being obsessed with y being obsessed with x being obsessed with y being obsessed with x being obsessed with y being obsessed with x being obsessed with y being obsessed with z being obsessed with your mother?"

I have a feeling this string of attacks and thinly veiled counterattacks:

1. Qualifies even less as D&ST than most of the stuff in, well, D&ST.
2. Isn't getting anyone anywhere except PO'd.

Only I did it with more humour (which absolutely everybody appeared to miss (are we Brits the only people in the World with a sense of humour?))

What the hell?!

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
