The Mashtuur Puddle

While waiting for a new game to start on the BF2S US server, I spent a few minutes wandering around underground on Mashtuur. (As many people know, on some servers you can move and control your point of view before you spawn for the first time by using the mouse and pressing the W key.)

A new game never started but I discovered an underground puddle. Why the hell would EA/Dice spend any amount of time creating a puddle under a road where no one will ever see it?

In the future, everyone please join the BF2S US server so I don't waste any more of my life taking screenshots of underground puddles.

Mashtuur was supposed to be alot different, Maybe the road was'nt supposed to be paved all the way? And maybe the puddle was a way of getting cars stuck?

It's probably world fog that looks funny because it's right next to the ground texture.

Its the way the level editor works, that is where the water level is.

if any ground is below the water level, theres water in it.

and the reason why EA would do such a thing? a guy probably just slipped his hand or it served some purpose before, but why waste time making it back to ground level when only people like the OP would find it?

They just didnt shape the terrain in that place... because it wouldnt be seen in normal play, so their is no point in doing it.

If you check under the "squares" on various maps with the drop down section in the middle- Near the mosque on Mashtuur, the "Square" flag on Karkand... you will also notice that the terrain is poorly done.

Another example- Kubra Damn- Go in there and you will see how craply done the terrain is done under there.....

Its not a glitch, a bug, or a poorly removed feature, its just a lazy mapper.

im sure if you looked hard, you could prolly find tons of stuff like that on any map....

Yeah, like last night I found that if you go to the very south of Mashtuur (out of bounds area, was using sandbox) theres a lagoon with trees and everything. It was kinda cool

I found that one as well, spawned a boat in there and started going rounds the lagoon
