The RPK is pretty much an AK with a heavier and longer barrel. And it's a LMG

The AK (Avtomat Kalashnikova) is an assault rifle.

AK-47 Assault rifle

They both use the same ammo, and they both can use either banana clips OR the drum clips. Yes, AKs can use the drum clips.

Beat me to it .  People associate any 'evil' looking weapon with AK-47.  Chalk it up to the liberal media I guess.  Oh yeah, Kalishnakov is a genius(so are Stoner and Browning, but this is about the AK).  If I'm not mistaken, he's also the one that designed the tank crew rifle that has a 90 degree curve(overall 90 degrees, not a sharp corner) in its barrel.

Oh yeah, and even though SKS rifles look like AK-47s, they have nothing to do with one another .

As for why 'babes with guns' are considered sexy, I would say that for me, a woman who can get over an irrational fear of an inanimate object is sexier to me than the MMM types who freak out and lose their minds.  A rational, secure woman is far sexier to me than a mindless drone.
