I need a specific sound effect.

Any sound nerds here? I'm looking for a static/discharge/electrical noise. There might even be one like it in the opening company credits of bf2 but it's been a while since I saw those. (yay for +restart!)

The closest approximation I can find is static discharge 09 (bottom right) from here: http://www.soundrangers.com/category-re … at_id=0025

Except I want something a little deeper and more "solid" as opposited to the on/off type sound that gets. But if anyone can figure out how to extract that sound effect I can just use that.

I've googled around but I can't find it. So if anyone can point me at a good site with sound fx or upload the sound themselves that would be most awesome.

Yeah it doesn't really matter where the sound is from. I don't want a sound that sounds like electricity arcing or anything. But picture in a movie or a game when there's an image on a monitor and it flashes and you get a slight static/discharge type noise. That's what I want. I can't describe it to well but I know exactly how it sounds in my head. The link I gave above is a close approximation of what I want.

If you want the one from the BF2 Intro vid, maybe you can download that Bink video player program or something. I remember I had it before to make a screensaver out of those videos. Then you can change mic input to line out, and play the video. Then edit it in Audacity or some other program.

I don't know. Just throwing out ideas here. That's what I would try.

Not a bad idea. But I think the "challenge everything" voiceover is too close to the sound. The sound is about what I want, but it's too short. I also want it to have a little bit more of a flickery sound to it.
