New information about oncoming patch 1.2

EA has presented more information about the patch and the delay....

"Hello everyone.

As I pretty much expected, there is some last minute news to pass along. There’s some good and some not so good news but, hopefully, the good outweighs the not so good.

First, I’ll start with the bad news to get it out of the way. We have held onto the 1.2 patch a little longer than we had initially planned. We really felt that it was important to delay the patch and take care of some of the issues that have had the community concerned. This means that it will be released sometime in the next two or three weeks. This, unfortunately, means that the Euro Force Booster Pack will be delayed as well since it relies on the patch. Look for Euro Force to be released in the latter half of February now.

Also, another bit of bad news is that the new feature that allows player to pick up deployed mines with the G key is being held back. In the end, we felt it just wasn’t complete enough for public consumption. We at DICE apologize to all of you who were eagerly awaiting this feature.

I hope that the reasons for the delays are seen as positive by you, the community, and therefore I list these reasons as the good news portion of this update.

The following issues were addressed:
Being able to pass through walls using a spinning tank turret has been fixed. It has also been addressed on all rotating vehicle positions just to be safe.

The disappearance of tank projectiles and grenade launcher projectiles during online play has been improved and should occur less frequently

The distance for throwing hand grenades, ammo packs, and health packs has been increased.

And finally…
The Red/Blue nametag bug has been addressed

Regarding the last point, what we have done is make the code more secure to try and prevent any cases where this bug may occur. Since the fix has been in place, we have had no reproduction of the bug in testing.

We’re excited about being able to release 1.2 very soon and hope you all are too."

yeh i just checked again, they've just this minute updated the official site. Sorry dude, like i said it wasn't personal but i remember someone doing this for patch 1.03. I don't believe these fucktards are making us wait even longer and they've taken one of the best parts of the patch out (picking up mines and c4).
I was really looking forward to playing around with the new weapons aswell, and i've been dragging out my promotion to sergeant major for at least a week now just so i could get the upgrades straight away when the patch comes out, looks like i'll have to wait a bit longer.

Never EVER! Advertise for a product unless you're 100% positive that it will be released on time.
Because if the product doesn't meet the deadline then not only does the company potentially lose money from disappointed customers, but it makes them look unreliable. And no company wants to look unprofessional.

If you haven't noticed EA/Dice advertise their Euro Pack on BFHG. (Pop-up screen)
It use to have a February 8th release date on it. Now it's changed to sometime in February. God forbid they didn't false advertise on other places besides in the game.

Also there was a problem in Special Forces. The expansion pack was never successfully finished.
The people higher up at EA/Dice didn't have a clue when things were ready to go.
They just called it good and decided to make a few more $$$ by throwing extra add-ons later.

There are people who care about money and people who care about the community.

Right now EA/Dice looks about like a Sine wave. Their priorities fluctuate between money and community.

I think it should still be possible to pick up AT mines and claymore with G. forget about the C4 that is not that great but since we can't destroy claymore and AT mines anymore it would be fair to allow us to pick those up (as engi or sniper) also it makes the sniper more mobile. now a sniper needs to stick to a position to have use of the claymore. a real sniper is moving allong most of the time. you kill you move

They will let you know about some legit issues.

But they're not going to tell you that other projects are more important or their programmers/game designers are slacking off.

wow, you guys cry more than a baby who just got punched in the face and set on fire.

this is the first time i've seen EA address the red name glitch, something that half the BF2 community has been complaining about, and all you guys do is bitch about the release date? the patch will come out when it comes out. crying and bitching and moaning about it won't do anything.

i've got an idea though. if you're oh so upset with EA over releasing the patch a couple weeks late, then stop playing. obviously EA can do nothing right and you're so disappointed in them...why should you support them any longer? either put your money where your mouth is, shut up, or put up.
