One of the main reasons that BF2 is so plauged by lag, is that Dice/EA chose to use only dynamic shadows on their maps, and no fixed shadows. I can't believe how stupid they are! I mean, how often do the buildings on Karkand (Or any map) move? It's just so plain dumb that I almost can't find words for it! Ok that the game supports dynamic shadows, but without teture shadows, it looks bad unless you run on überhigh megapwn-settings on a fucking 8800GTX! And the possibility to shut them off... Ping! Nightvision ON! And the dynamic shadows are so heavy, that unless you've got a 7600/X1600, you can't have them on high, and your game looks like crap. And because of the use of only dynamc shadows, we get that infamous "lantern bug", where you're lying in a shadow, and you're bright as hell!
I just can't get how they think!
Class this as spam or garbage if you like, I just had to get rid of some of my rage...
EDIT: If you find any missing X'es, it's because the X key on this keyboard is whorn-down (ya srsly)...

The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. If that is what you want to hear then there is no problem with that, but by adding so much additional material (by way of harmonics and intermodulation) you have a tailored sound system, not a hi-fi. - Rod Elliot, ESP
