OK, a little while ago I noticed by BF Vanilla disc had a small crack in, i thought nothing of it as the game still played fine. Then every now and again it wouldn't read in the DVD drive unless I ejected it and re-inserted it.
Then one day it wouldn't register at all and I was thinking "oh shit, what am i going to do for the rest of my life!!!!" because i wasn't prepared to fork out for another disc when i didn't know how much longer I was going to be playing BF.
Then someone told me I could play BF Vanilla off my SF disc and all was good.
But i have always had a crappy problem with BF on my comp. Every so often it would mess up and I would have to re-install and re-patch to get it good again. But as my DVD drive wasn't reading the disc, I wouldn't be able to do this anymore unless I bought a new version.
This happened tonight, but after about 5 mins of re-inserting the disc it registered often enough for me to be able to re-install.
Does anyone have any ideas on what I can do if the disc fucks up completely and I need to re-install? Besides giving EA even more for not much in return?
