2006 was the first year that servers preinstalled with Windows Server outsold servers preinstalled with commercial Unix. Sorry, but Linux is not a big player in the server space. It may show up as a large number of hosts for web server platforms but that is because many web servers ate multi homed.Ricerckt93 wrote:
Yes MS may run approx. 95% of "desktops." But what is running the majority of Servers? That is a very silly comment. How do you define secure? If you look at the number of security errata for the kernel vs other OS kernels then it is pretty "insecure".Ricerckt93 wrote:
Why is that? Oh yeah, more secure.Again, a silly comment. How do you define better? Windows has better file and print capabilities, better management, better centralised patch management, better remote desktop management, costs less for most corporate installations and better support than any of the commercial Linux distro vendors.Ricerckt93 wrote:
So to sum it up...........Yes, Linux>Windows.
The only way its "better" is because its a different system and if you compare it to a commercial Unix platform (which is probably the only OS you can a direct comparison with) its pretty poor on most levels.
