Well it's wierd when i try to play single player it take me to like a demo style single player it's really gay. How do i get to the page were i can set the amount of players and time and all that i want?
I think it is one of the tabs at the top of the main screen,
I never knew that you could set the ticket limit and time limit on singleplayer... That's one thing i miss from 1942.

damn you cant set it? that seems bad. When i try single player all it lets me do is look for a ma and it picks 32 bots.
help
You can download a mod that allows you to use the 64 player maps it installs similar to BF2 SF and seems to work, it does display the maps as 16 player but once your ingame you can see that its the 64 size. It's simple enough to change the number of bots with the config files, you should be able to do a search on this forum, however it does take quite a system to run 64 bots. Then you should be able to play a larger game, the bots really suck at flying the jets though. I wouldnt sit in the back seat of the bombers if i were you . heres the link for the mod http://www.shadowreaver.net/~bf2sp64/
Good luck.
Good luck.
Why in the world would you wanna play single unless to practice something , or lost the net?
Maybe something for EA to make more user-friendly in the next patch.

Sometimes i find it fun just to blow away a couple dozen bots, then again you could just go to the EA servers and do the same thing.
Hmm.. was always wondering if you could set up your own LAN server with some bots so you and a couple friends can blast away...is that possible?
I asked this too, and I guess you can't.. EA didn't spend too much time on singleplayer it seems.imdead wrote:

Theres a way to set it without downloading anything ou need to go to a File in the BF2 folder and change the settings in there i can have 128bots runnning loose on a 16player map lol i will post the way to the file below:
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI
and then select AIDefault.ai and open with your textpad and look down to the big paragraph it tells you what to do there ok and have fun.
(I have done this for a long time on mine and it hasnt caused a problem but remember kiddies always back up your files)
C:\Program Files\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\AI
and then select AIDefault.ai and open with your textpad and look down to the big paragraph it tells you what to do there ok and have fun.

Hmmm.. so you can host a server with some friends just to kill bots by doing this?? C LLestat<CoN> wrote:

not sure about hosting that will only change the bots on single player i tend not to do much server side things i have a crappy net connection so i would ask someone who does stuff like hosts things
because i just got a new joystick and i want to get a fell for it in a unranked game with people who cant even kill me.TrollmeaT wrote:

You need to know pure basic Python to edit the .ai files located in the
"C:\Program Files\EA Games\Battlefield 2\Mods\BF2\AI" folder
Open AIDefault.ai with notepad and type "rem" in front of these lines like this:
This:
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 1
aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4
Becomes this:
rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 64
rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 1
rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 0.4
Then change this:
rem aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
rem aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
rem aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
rem aiSettings.setBotSkill 1.0
To this:
aiSettings.overrideMenuSettings 1
aiSettings.setMaxNBots 32
aiSettings.maxBotsIncludeHumans 0
aiSettings.setBotSkill 1.0
Save and close the file and you now have 32 bots in Single Player.
Enjoy.

Uh... i don't know if i would trust that guy. He might be right, but he could mess up your game..
yeah im not going to do it.
I'm not saying you should do it - I set it back to normal every time I want to run a Multiplayer Game.
There's a whole guide to Pimping Out your Single Player game at Battlefield Single Player
I just took it off THE TOP of your AIDefault.ai file where it gives you the instructions on how to do it:
rem To spawn more than 15 bots in SP, use the following lines instead of the three lines above.
rem Note that this is totaly unsupported, it will affect your system's performance
rem and may even crash your game. That being said, you will most likely be able to run a lot
rem more bots than 15 on your system.

Want a LAN game with bots? just create a single and have your friend join it as if it were an internet game (IP address).
Well if you change it to 32 players, will it change the map size to 32?
yeah.ryan_14 wrote:

sweet thanks man!
well i tried and it didnt change the map size.
No. To change the map size you need to download modded maps. There are enlarged versions of most maps now available on the BattlefieldSingleplayer forum linked to earlier. (I would use these rather than the older codebasher coop32 and Viathon's BF2SP64 modded maps. They didn't have the ability to enlarge the area the bots can use until the new editor was released a couple of weeks ago.)ryan_14 wrote:
