Obesity is a disease that affects approximately 60 million people in the United States--- this is not including overweight people

Nearly two out of every three Americans are overweight or obese.

One out of every eight deaths in America is caused by an illness directly related to overweight and obesity.

According to the researchers from Yale University and the University of Hawaii at Manatoa which was published in the July issue of Psychological Bulletin that almost 50 percent of children in North America will be overweight by 2010.
Even with a growing percentage of overweight people, the stigma shows no signs of subsiding.
Americans, who comprise only 5% of the world's population, account for a whopping 33% of total global sugar consumption - over 10 million tons annually.
UN found that 60% of disease worldwide is now caused by cardiovascular ailments, which are directly linked to over-consumption of sugar, saturated and trans-fats, and increasing lack of exercise caused by too much TV viewing.
Among men, 71 percent are overweight, including 31 percent who are obese. Among women, 62 percent are overweight, including 33 percent who qualify as obese.

Also while watching on old rerun of Jay Leno show he was discussing how a 450 pound(which is approximately 204 kilograms) man robbed a bank and left on foot and the guy could not be spotted in the broad day light. Jay Leno was like you know we as a nation are fat when we cant spot a 450 pound guy, running down the street since he blends in with the rest of the crowd.

happy to be 1/3. Does anyone notice large concentrations of obese peoples in Theme Parks? They make a killing with those rent a wheelchair places in Disneyworld so fat people dont have to work.

Im very happy to say that im not fat. And im not overweight. It's sad that parents let there kids be fat because EVERYONE knows fat kids are not liked nearly as much as skinny kids.

Fat people annoy me...

I cannot understand how someone can consume far more than his/her share of the global food supply and, in most cases, make jokes about how they looove to eat.

I can't even go outside without having to look at someone with a three foot wide ass...

put down the fork you fat bastards and go contribute to society.

Just a side note, the motorized shopping cart at work is broken because it can only witstand 350 pounds of weight...

yeah but that does not apply to the whole country

Only 24 percent of Japanese aged 15 and older are believed to be overweight, compared to about 65 percent of adults in the United States.

Around 20% of Japans population is obese and overweight its not as bad as it is here in U.S.

me too, but i do work 7 hours a day at a job that practically keeps me sprinting or weightlifting all day, so that might explain it...

jesus i know EXACTLY what u mean, when i went on vacation to orlando we went to disney world and seriosuly about 1/8 of all people were in chairs, maybe even more. it was rather disgusting.

i am pretty lazy and eat an ass load but still seem not to get fat. its fucking awesome . i went to a big water park recently in Wisconsin and there were so many fat people there it was disgusting. ( not helping they were in bathing suits)

On my last trip to Six flags, three fat ladies were in the front of the wave pool, and all the waves broke on them...

I couldn't stop a 30 ton wave generating machine with bulk alone, but apparently it is possible.

That's funny. I just went to Disneyland last weekend and commented on that very thing. It's definitely rampant in theme parks.

I don't, he said he feels bad for those people that can't loose weight, well theres a A LOT of people like that.. they're called an endomorphs and they have slower metabolisms. Yea, its true if they eat healthier and exercise they can lose weight, but it's a very slow process and fast foods are tempting you everywhere you go... but I'm not fat so I can not speak for them. My cousin ate healthy all the time (His parents were very strict about what he ate) but he was still overweight, until about 11th grade when he grew to be 6'5'' and now he's avg weight.

While I eat fast food all the time, and i don't gain a pound because I'm an ectomorph.

That was a really stupid statement, it's not that we eat to much, its the kind we eat, covered in grease, deep fried everything.

If everyone ate baked chicken instead of fried chicken and stuff like that it would be a lot healthier here in America.

I for one don't give a shit what I eat, I was on medicine that was supposed to raise my cholesterol (side effect) but instead it went down even though it's the summer now and I go out to eat every day almost, if I die because of how I eat, atleast I died enjoying what i love, FOOD!
