Problem with Asus EN8600GTS on vista

The title says it all.I bought an EN8600GTS,installed the drivers,restarted the pc,but card still not work...why?
Here are my specs(idk all of them bcuz im no pc geek :p)
Processor:Intel core 2 duo e 6400 1.87 ghz(2 processors)
Graph card:Just mentioned it
RAM:2 gigs
motherboard:hmm...ill check in a while,its a pretty new one though so i dont beleive the prob is the motherboard
Hard disk:Sata 250 gig
Be advised that i have a pretty outdated version of vista(bcuz one guy told me that this may be the fault)but i cant download the updates...well its a biiig story

I also have the option to switch back to XP if needed

I am guessing you mean the E6300? The E6400 is clocked at 2.13GHz

You should always download the latest updates and make sure that you are running your latest revision of driver software. Have you tried the card in another computer?

I said that i dont have the option to dl updates for vista.Microsoft site isnt showing up for some reason and blah blah blah
I only have the option to switch back to xp

Doubt it, because the card was built for DirectX 10.0

You have no other computer to try it on? Why can't you download updates? Even on pretty much all cracked versions you can so don't give me that as an excuse!

oh well...time to write a book

As i was having probs with the card my dad brought a techician from his office.He searched the pc up and low with his super uber leet hax and he told me that it was a vista prob that hasnt updated for a long time.So we had to go to the microsoft site,to dl the updates.Billys shitty site didnt show up(some other sites didnt show up either).I phoned to my ISP and they told me that it was the routers fault (i have a wireless linksys router WAG200G)that hasnt updated for a while(FUCK UPDATES!)....So i went to linksys.com to dl the updates which took me 2 hours with 90 kb download speed.I finnaly downloaded the updates,went in router settings,chose update,and it started updating.All ok till now,but the wizard crashed EVERYTIME at 6%
anyways,the card comes first.Fuck the router,i just wanna play bf2 again

Partition you're drive and install XP on the new partition. See if it works there.

maybe a conflict with a driver from your old card? Use driver cleaner to kill anything graphics related, reboot and install again
