BF2S Forums Dear victim, please do the right thing and stand still for me

i feel ya man, i wont use my nife until im ready to get the bagde( unless its some unsuspecting commander or sniper )dont wanna get hit wit the badge bug

dam iv got 18...i better get it soon, and i really suk at knifen

I was just playing a 24/7 karkand 52 player server yesterday on my first attempt at expert and got 17.  I jumped prone next to a sniper that was looking right at me, swung, saw the dust fly up and the round ended.  After that I was trying to decide if I wanted to throw the monitor out the window or simply destroy it with a bat.  hehe I feel your pain wedge

My gold knife badge was hands down the hardest badge or ribbon I ever got. (Next to chopper ribbon)

It involved a LOT of bunny hopping and getting people that just spawned..... it was HARD.....  And anyone else that has it is definatly a great evader of bullets like me!

my hand trembles..my heart beats 3x as fast approaching a victim with my knife.. i know wat u mean.. its just too darn stressful on my heart..

i knifed a spec ops in the foot last nite as he was prone on top of the fortification walls at the flag at the base of the Chinese UAV hill on Songhua, and he was right next to the helipad..(why was he prone on top where everyone could see him..?).. i sneaked up on him from behind the fortification, i looked up from the bottom of the wall and got close enough i could even smell his boots..i stabbed at it.."oooh..oooh".. he was still prone, and he kept spinning about trying to figure out where the red curve came from (no gun shot).. i kept still (will that damn Chinese radio shut up! and not give me away)..it went on for a good one minute.. suddenly he got up and ran along the wall and disappeared... i didnt kill him.. it was for comic relief..

and the one thing i cant get the hang of, knifing someone in the face.. just cant stab at them fast enough..this USMC AT came running out of a bunker, i swung at him in the face, missed him.. next thing is "xxxxx [SRAW] mikeshw".. must they do that? use an AT round to kill me?

edit: thanks for the tip, col.. will try the chest. i did watch the C4 video made by BFSOUPNAZI where he knifed a  pair of legs sticking out of the wall and with just one stab he killed him.

When I was trying to get the Expert Knife Badge, I was rocking hard core for awhile. But then it was so so close to the end of the round. I had 17 kills and just needed one. It was Karkand 32, I was MEC and we were all stuck at the Tank Flag. So I got in a Vodnik. Someone else jumped in. I drove to the other side. I see a Sniper spawn. I bail out. Right when I'm about to swing at him, the other guy who jumped into my Vodnik gunned him down, the round ends.

Bah... thats what I dislike about Knife Fights in BF2. It's not the Knife part, it's the BF2 part. 9 times out of 10 if me and some other guy got in a Knife Duel, either his or my team mates will kill me/him and ruin the a Knife fight. Usually it's some stat whore in a Tank or APC... usually.

Booyah! Got another 5 kills in a round (boo!) and next round (SaK) I managed an amazing 9 kills with a knife! Only 22 more kills (and then 7 in a round) and I get Vet Knife, but I think I'll just wrap up my Basics and get Explosive Ordinance tonight

Thanks for all the tips and support, guys. I'm glad I didn't have to cheat to get my knife badge!

A couple of things I learned about knifing -

- Don't bunnyhop repeatedly, it doesn't work; you just kill off your run meter. Run at an angle to your victim and just let him miss, then turn into him at the last moment and stab away.
- The run/jump/prone/stab trick does work, but it isn't necessary on every kill; I used this stunt 2/9 times.
- Don't wait for them to come to you. Go in all knives blazing. If you wait, the round will simply finish too soon. Expect to die. A lot.
- Most importantly - knifing people in the chest doesn't work if they have armor. I've hit a guy 4 times, with the dust and the hit sound, and he still stood. If you want an instant kill, go for the legs or the face; or just the chest if it's a player who is obviously not in armor (snipers, obviously, do not wear armor).

cmdwedge go to www.zarksnipers.com and become a member. And talk to Einstien. Hes a genius when it comes to knife and shock paddels. Well hes damn good in just about everything! So hes the man to talk to!

I'll give you a little advice, and seeing as I've got my vet knife I feel I'm inclined to give it to you.

Basically, play a high-point server, and be patient. Watch that sniper for 5minutes if you have to, as long as he settles down without feeling pressured, the kill is yours. Also find out who the squad leaders are and wait around the corner, as squad members come flying round the corner follow them and slash, slash, slash. Hope this works, and if so well done matey
