Absolutely. But also cultural corruption and organized crime.

That was over a year ago. I'm dealing with it again.
I was forced into the sheet metal union for a school job. I have to pay about 40% in man hours to them, and they never set foot on a job.
It's organized crime. Why does the government keep marijuana illegal? Organized crime. Remember C & H Pure Cane Sugar, from Hawaii?

Mobs pricks send local Hawaiians high on " ice" into the fields and stole the crops. They moved production to Thailand.

i actually admire Chinas ruthlessness in dealing with corrupt officials; they shoot them in the back of the head.

Whatever the case, I think you'll agree with me that our government is far too corporate at this point, right?
And you want to kill the free market?

Agreed...  but there is a very simple solution to all this.  Socialize all public amenities.

There's not as much room for corruption if government agencies are the ones doing all the building.  There's no push for extra profit or kickbacks when everything is done "in-house" so to speak.

Heh, WWII was run by a so-called liberal. We dropped the bomb and won in less time. Heh. I think you may be wrong on this one. Otherwise I think your dead on. Vietnam was a bi-partisan cluster-fuck though, i'll give you that.

I'd like to kill what the free market has become.  I'd like to kill the corporate oligarchies that control most markets now.

After having done that, small businesses will thrive again, and fair trade will become the norm.  Screw "free" trade.

Not anymore...  I've run through a lot of ideologies in my life, but nowadays, I've come to the conclusion that government is the lesser of two evils.  The greater evil are corporations.

Basically, humans coexist most peacefully and freely (in a personal sense) when countries have no more than 30 million people or so and the cultures involved are mostly homogeneous.  Since that description of society is nowhere near the way that America is, we must adapt the ideal to fit our situation.

As far as I can tell, the only way the power can be returned to the people is by wrenching government out of the hands of the wealthy elite.  The best way to do this is to harshen antitrust laws and break up oligarchies without hesitation.

I've also come to realize that one man's "economic freedom" is another's slavery.  You can't let businesses do anything they please, because eventually, they buy your government.  That's the point we've reached.  The rich run this government to a greater extent than just about any other 1st World Nation.  The only places worse than us about this are mostly Third World.  We're already headed in the Second World direction in terms of wealth disparity.
