Sharqi
As the US on Sharqi, me and a squadmate stole the MEC chopper and proceeded to rape the MEC for 25 mins. Twas good fun. I'll post the screenie when I get home from school.
QFT. My 81 kill streak was in an old school blackhawk. The enemy only had hotel and we circled it. Good times.mr.hrundi wrote:
I got a lot on mashtuur with the good ole blackhawk.
Sharqi peninsula, what patch was the old school "Seahawk" in again before EA beat it with a nurf bat? The most kills I got in the MI-28 was 71.

The Iron Gator
Voted Gator where I got all my heli+armor ribbons. Actually I did about 50% of my heli kills on Ghost Town with the Apache. But I suck at almost every vehicle in this game.
well,
at sharqui you have the dorks that always spawn at tv station even when a chopper is attacking. is difficult to them to think to spawn BELOW.
at Gator, just finish the essex and is open season at deck.

Smoke Screen ftw!
Sharqi for Infantry rapeage.
Wake (especially as PLA), because theres not much which can shoot you down and lots of things to TV.
Dalian if your good with TV v other attack choppers.
Mashtuur in the Black Hawk pre 1.2.
Iron Gator and Ghost Town if your good pilot with the Apache (or have a very good hind pilot).

Considering about less than 1/10 of the BF2 players have SF, it's a testament to Iron Gator that it is getting 1/3 the votes of Sharqi. Imagine the TV station of Sharqi being a ship and the only CP's in the ship; And you get Iron Gator.
Anyway Mass Destruction for me.
Anyway Mass Destruction for me.
wake island
I can get it on any map with a chopper, but I guess kubra since I have the most hours on that. Wake is the easiest though.
Gulf, I love that MEC chopper as a gunner
Sharqi.
With two different pilots, as well.

Probably Wake.
Kubra as gunner in MI-28. 70-some kills.
Never got a good pilot on Sharqi.
Never got a good pilot on Sharqi.
Oman, then Gator.
Sharqi + Cobra + M95 + 64 players = insane kills.

Wake -- had loads of 80+ rounds, culminating in a 91 streak in the Z-10 (64 player round lasted about 10 mins so that's pretty good going). If you have good jet support (on either team) then wake is a good hunting ground. No jet support as US when you're in the cobra = not much chance of a huge killstreak. If you're in the Z-10 on a good team, then it's a bit of a turkey shoot really as you're rarely going to get hassled by jets and a lot of the time your J-10s will give the Cobra no peace (or just shoot it down all the time). Not terribly challenging due to the map design.
Sharqi -- With the right conditions I'd consider anything less than 70 to be a bad round. Had 80+ many, many times and hit 91 again (again, 10 min round tops). I've also had 96 kills but it wasn't a streak. My friend has gunned for me and hit in excess of 90 quite a few times Regardless of what a lot of people say, you are under threat from multiple areas on sharqi -- it just takes one moment to get hit by an AT rocket or gunned down by a .50 cal. If you're not aware as pilot/gunner (or on different wavelengths) then you're not going to keep the chopper up and get those big scores. I think the highest score I've witnessed by a chopper team (that wasn't involving me or one of my friends) on sharqi was something like 60 in the cobra and maybe 40 or 50 for the Mi-28 -- if it's so easy then why is this the case? Probably because we're trying to shoot them down from the ground instead of moaning about it.
This is what happens when it goes well: Oh yes!. The funny thing is that I messed up at the start of the round and flew backwards too much so we were out of range to TV the cobra. The cobra then disappeared and we had to hunt it down, wasting almost 1/10th of the round in doing so. The USMC also had bad flags (in terms of score for us) like the construction site, yet he still managed 107 kills. I reckon you could hit 130 in an absolutely perfect round. I've seen 120 done before.
Anyway, to get a huge kill streak (or score) on a full server, you need a lot of things to fall into place and a bit of luck. You need your team to quickly capture the flags that have the biggest ability to challenge your chopper (i.e. the ones with jets, choppers, .50 cals, mobile AA & AA emplacements) and also you need your jets to help you out. I've flown and gunned in countless rounds and the biggest scoring rounds are the ones where your team helps you out and the enemy spends more time complaining than trying to shoot you down
IMO a lot of maps, while chopper friendly, aren't necessarily high-score friendly. The main reason is that you have to compete for kills with multiple choppers and bombers. I don't necessarily have the most fun on the high scoring maps, either as, to get the high scores you often have to rape uncaps (which I don't have a problem with doing, it just gets boring really quickly).
I'd rank it something like the following (best to worst for scoring)
Sharqi -- one chopper, big opportunities.
Wake -- ditto.
Oman -- in the Mi-28 you have huge scoring opportunities if the cobra team is crap (hit front flags lots). If both chopper teams are good then it's better to be on the US team.
Clean Sweep -- same as above. I find it really hard to see on this map as my monitor's contrast is bad at lower brightnesses, though.
Dalian -- Huge potential, but often diluted by the presence of two choppers on both teams. With the right conditions (second chopper on your team being crap and restricting the enemy team to their uncap) I'd bump this up the list a bit.
Dragon -- Waste a lot of time taking out enemy choppers due to the white sky, not much in the way of infantry pounding and rare to see loaded vehicles. Chopper friendly but I'd say that it's not a great map for scoring (though I like it a lot).
Daqing -- multiple choppers and jets, lots of mobile AA etc. One of my favourite chopper maps as you have to be on your toes, but it's not a big-scoring map unless you rape the US base in the Z-10 (hard to do because they will almost always have one flag at the least).
