Sorry I don't have any images / videos, but I'll try to describe it.

The pilot will point his nose down pretty aggressively, and then circles continuously without losing altitude.  The best image is imagine the pilot following a flight path of an upside down cone.

ah i know what your talking about. I think its just when you get enough speed going to the right or left you dont loose altitude.

Nose down (not too steep), full throttle, left/right strafe, move nose in opposite direction you are strafing.  Thats it.

Umm... hard to explain. start by a normal circle strafe of about 45 degrees, when you have enough momentum point the nose down so your chopper is at 95 degrees, and start spinning faster. You can only really do it with an AH-1z (z-10 is possible, but a bit harder. Mi-28 is impossible)

edit: Oh, i thought he meant the death spirals not just normal circle strafing.

Yeah, follow the steps as above, but it takes a while to gain momentum. Heres a good vid of it:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NyCJrXo94DA

You can too do it with the mi-28... I'm actually working on a stunt movie and I do circle strafing in the Havok.... you just have to know how to do it.

circle strafing? like the others said..just watch out for palm trees, cranes, and other things that may get in the way :p

OT: what ever happened to those old video tutorials on how to fly/gun in the chopper? cant remember who they were by but they were pretty informative and thats how i learned...

It's actually a sticky on the forum that I just watched. It's pretty informative.

If you are going to do it, practice makes perfect. Nothing pisses people off more than someone who attempts it, goes too fast and crashes into a tree.

If you think you can do it, go for it mate, otherwise, stick to hovering and dodgin!

I can't fucking stand it when a pilot can't do a circle strafe so instead he passes by targets as fast as he can. I've noticed people that can't circle strafe tend to not be able to turn around fast, either. So these people would do a quick flyby (yeah, thanks for making my job killing infantry so much easier), go way past the target, take forever to turn around, repeat process. At least get a good distance and hover.

I was in a round of wake two days ago and the pilot of the skycow, which was full mind you, decided he would use it as a gun ship. Needless to say he failed.

Nono, I know you can circle strafe in the Mi-28 and Z-10, I misinterpreted. I thought he meant the complete nose facing directly at the ground spinning around thing. The mi-28 is too heavy to do that. Oh, and thank god cool_banana foad'd. GA3 became a better place when he did.

Actually I was referring to the nose facing the ground (like an 80 degree angle) as I was gunning for a pilot doing it in Ghost Town with the Apache and not referring to the circle of death, but I figured I better learn that first before attempting the steeper incline.

I don't think about what I'm doing when I do that. It just comes natural. It's fun to do it right above privates asking for rides while spamming get in.
