I'm trying to transfer some cell phone pics to my computer. I know that I need a USB cable to connect to the computer which I found at the Motorola store online.

In the description it says that "Access your data, the Internet and e-mail on the go. This cable works with your data software to connect your phone to your PC. Note: The USB Data Cable must be used with Mobile PhoneTools - sold separately." which is software that you install on your computer. Do you need this software to transfer pics too? Has anyone transferred pictures from this phone to their computer without using the software? If anyone who has this same cell phone could shed some light on this or anyone who had this phone/knows stuff about it, that would be great!

EDIT: The link doesn't work.

Why don't you just send them to your email adress in a picture message?

Usually you'll have to install a driver aswel as the 'Tools'. Its easy to just get that off the Motorola site or it may even come with the cable.

I don't realluy understand what you're asking us though, as you already know what to do.

I tried sending it to my email, but the phone couldn't send the message.

Try looking for "Motorola Phone Tools"

It's what I use and I think it's free.

you need the software

i have the same phone and i just "aqquired" phonetools from a "certain" website.

i didnt bother with the cable either as i found that my iPod/mp3 player cable fit fine.

when u have phonetools just install and you will need to create a profile

from then on its prety straight forward.

Yep. There are specific Motorola Phone Tools for the V3(i) and they work fine. It isn't bad software, it just has a horrible GUI though!

i think you can just plug the phone in and the pc will first try to read it as a modem and install drivers, cancel that and then go to "My Computer" it should read as a removable storage device. I think thats what i did with mine when i had the original V3 a couple years back
