I know the grenade launcher is a very controversial topic. Some say it's just a noob thing, others like it.
I just want to mention my personal opinion.
The grenade launcher as it currently is in the game, and also, as it will be after the next patch is more a melee weapon for people who want to run around edges and kill everybody. Usually the grenade launcher attachment is only used if you want to kill people behind a bunker or if you want to let a whole squad explode, but thats hardly possible in Battlefield 2 due to the small explosion radius. Yesterday I had this kill with the grenade launcher: I am waiting at the hotel flag @karkand to neutralize it. I see someone running on the street, facing the USMC mainbase. He was near the broken APC-thing when I hit him perfectly with the grenade launcher from the flag, and these distances are what the grenade launcher is for. It takes some skill and experience to correctly estimate the trajectory of your grenade and its speed. I'm quite proud of my long-range kills with the grenade launcher, even if you are instantly called 'noob' or 'gp30 idiot' or whatever.
A problem is, that kills like this will be nearly impossible because EA reduces the explosion radius more and more.
At the end, I had the idea that EA should change the grenade launchers completely. Their explosion radius should be the same as the frag grenades and [important] the way that the grenade has to pass before it can explode should be increased to about 10 - 15 m to avoid that idiots that abuse the grenade launcher.
Let me know what you think about it.
