Would You Recommend Installing These?

I want to install WindowBlinds and Objectdock on my computer to theme the whole thing completely. They are both just two more programs that boot at startup I don't really need. But they look great. I'm worried it'll slow down my computer and also BF2 when I run it.

I would never install either, not in a million years. They don't just use resources, they mutilate them entirely.

I have window blinds, and it doesn't slow me down at all. I am not sure about that object dock thing, it could slow it down, could not, dunno.

To be honest (I refuse to do TBH by the way....even though I just did it!) they're shite when you actually load them up and start using them. They never really look that good.

Objectdock has over 3.5 million downloads apparently...I have a system with 2 gigs of ram. I installed both on my brothers renovated laptop (Fresh install of Windows) and it works great for him. He loves it. Thats why I thought I would ask because I too, never wanted to install either. But my desktop is so boring

i wouldnt use either personally

however, i recently tried "Vista Inspirat 2" which mods xp and im pretty pleased with it

for those that say it slows your pc down that is BS, i've tried a few themes from CrystalXP and not had any problems at all - although i dont use the object dock that comes with it as i dont find it useful in anyway

and yes i have checked this out before sum nub comes on claiming he is some technical guru - my system resources etc are the same whether im using standard xp or Vista Inspirat 2

Just do it. If you have 2GB of RAM, then you're fine.

I used both for a while, but got a bit annoyed... THings take longer to load (the stuff hat use the graphics) so I just went bac to XP Default in the end.

K. I'll give it a try for a few days. I just know I'll like the look, and probably end up living with the lag issues just to keep up the eye-candy. And then I'll just keep spiraling down a road of visual pleasures ending up with a sad existence in the back of a WindowBlind forum alley looking for downloads of new themes while taking Fireworks and CrystalXP shots in the arm. Wait, was that to much?

I had ObjectDock on my old PC and it never slowed anything down. In fact, I'm DLing it right now

I tried objectdock once, but i never ended up using it. Just use the quicklaunch bar down by the start button thats much better. So objectbar just sat there annoying the shit out of me cause i would scroll over it and it would pop up. then i couldnt click on anything underneith it cause itd be in the way

I've got object dock, but not blinds, and object dock slows me down slightly, but then again I'm running with 512mb of ram, so I can STFU.
