I was installing my new heat sink and accidentally mixed some arctic silver 5 with the thermal pad that came with the sink. Should I bother removing the heat sink and replacing the grease with just arctic silver? Or does it not really matter?

Yeah, seeing that it's running a few degrees hotter than the stock fan I think I will. As for cleaning off the old grease I used an alcohol swab last time. Seemed to work ok.

Take a coffee filter and some rubbing alcohol. The coffee filter is lint-free, so you won't leave little pieces of lint and junk on there.

Scrub it good, you want it all off.
