I'm looking for a 120MM fan to cool down my CPU. What do you guys recommend?
What fans/coolers do you guys recommend that are under $40?

Um, I have an E6300. When it idles, it's at around 50 degrees, then it jumps to 70 while gaming.
I have an Intel 946GZIS mobo.

I thought you weren't allowed to buy parts for your computer?
wait, so you want a fan for your cpu or your case?
Not allowed to buy big things like a mobo or a new video card.petermassingale wrote:

I want a fan inside my case to cool the entire thing down.OmniDeath wrote:

I want YOU! To cool your computer. (© Uncle Sam)
You might want to take a look at the Arctic Freezer 7 Pro or a Thermaltake Typhoon.

So you're just not allowed to make your computer any better?
no offence but that's a pretty dumb rule

So do want an extra fan or a new CPU fan/heatsink combo?Ryan wrote:

Alright, I'll look into those.leetkyle wrote:

Pretty much. And I agree, it is dumb. I bought this computer so that it would be upgradable/compatible with future hardware, but blame my parents, they won't let me do anything.petermassingale wrote:

Well I don't particularly want a website to order from, just a product.
[sarcasm][/sarcasm]?
What socket.... grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr I can't help you if I don't know anything about what you want. if it's just a 120mm fan.... go find one on newegg or the local computer store or something. It's a fan, nothing more, some have lights, some have speed controllers.... it's not that hard to figure out what fan to buy.
Get a 120mm Delta fan. Incredible things.
Yeah, but some are better than others. That's what I want to know.elite.mafia wrote:

Well the one in the vid is a Delta 120mm Focussed Flow Fan (EHE) 190CFM 59DBa, 190CFM @ 12v is insane, most fans that claim over 190cfm are 24v or even 48v and pretty useless for PCs, if you just want pure cooling win with no regard for your ears Delta wins.
http://www.delta.com.tw/product/cp/dcfa … 0x38mm.pdf
TBF1212GHE 12v 2.45a ~30w 220CFM 65dBA
TBF1212UHE 12v 3.25a ~39w 234CFM 67.5dBA
They'll kill most normal fan controllers so if you want to use one buy a good one, don't run it off a fan power point on your mobo either, it'll burn it out, run it on a Molex straight from the PSU.

I recommend you Zalman !
Maybe its not that cheap but you know if its quality you need to buy it only once !
You may buy something whats a bit over 40 $ but it will go for ages.
I have a VGA cooler and its totally great !

Zalman Heatsinks are good (Thermalright are better) but Zalman fans really arn't all that great.
Eh, thats nothing, me and a couple friends got 36volts running through an 80mm rated at 12v, sucker could lift off the table on its own power, and would fly off its power cable if you didnt hold it down. Burnt out a few running them for more then a few seconds that high On 24 volts though you can get the same fan power, without blowing the fan, just gonna hurt its lifespan.TheEternalPessimist wrote:

If your looking at a standard 120mm fan to mount in your case(which coming from what your saying is what im guessing) Cooler Master and Antec make some good fans, got two Cooler masters right now(80mm and 120mm) and they cool my case quite well, not that it needs cooling.

Save up your cash and get a super-awesome custom liquid-cooling system...that would be fucking awesome. But anyways, idk, I've never changed the processor on my pc or overclocked it. I plan to get a new one... 1.7 ghz just isn't cool.
