Steam help please

I was playing half life 2 on my laptop on the plane for my trip, and on the way back, it said i could not launch it in offline mode, so i ended up being stuck watching in the land of woman instead of gaming at 37,000 ft.,

the point is, i have a flight to canada on the first and i need this to work. so how can i fix it if it worked there but no tback

You can try this:

- Get it back onto online mode prior to when you close it over to go the airport;
- open it back up on the plane;
- play.

Not sure if this will work though.. worth a try I guess!

lawl, thats risky i dont want to be going from LAX-CHI-OTT withoutit and watching in the land of women again

EDIT: i only have 2 batterys so it will run out by the time im airbourne
then when i have to change it out it wil lturn off.

I belive Half Life 2 can only be played whilest online.
I remember there lots of complents about this when it first came out. Every one brought it got it home and found out they coudnt play.

no but i played iton the way there.

and now it wont work on the way back

I think steam thought it was on a network, tried to update, and now it cant update so it wont start up until it is connected to the internet so it can update

It happened to me once at home, enabled my network card, and the thing work fine after

Buy a psp or nintendo ds , erm can't help you mate had problems myself so stupid I would be ok if it was to verify cd key but its ridiculous.

I dont think so ive played Hl2:Ep1 witout having it on my steam at all...and when my net was not working so. Might work if you know how steam work a little!
