yeah so my ping today is so high... i didnt change anything and i was playing the same servers i usually play...
any ideas on how i can solve this?

well my computer being the piece of crap it is, does stuff like that. but then i restart it and the ping goes back to being normal. maybe try that?

There's a million things you need to check.
The order of questions I always ask people (friends or customers):
#1 Do you have a HARDWARE firewall?
if no:
GO BUY ONE TODAY!  Brand is a touchy issuse with many, but I recommend you stay away from belkin.  I like the airlink+ stuff from fry's because is so cheap, but the interface and support sucks.  D-link is good, so is netgear.
if yes:
Double check that your "respond to ping" or "respond to ping on WAN side" is set to off.
#2 Install and run both spybot and adAware (not this name is NOT adware, it's adAware) to remove most spyware.

If $ is very tight and you can not afford a hardware firewall you should at least download and install a free firewall software like zone alarm.  A software firewall will take A LOT more configuration to make it protect correctly and still allow you to do everything you want to.  I usually recommend a hardware firewall and no software firewall as there's much less work with the hardware.  Glad I wrote this message... I just realized why my punkbuster did not auto update the otherday... the new system I built has a software firewall.
