Can't decide what I should get

I'm looking at buying a laptop in the next month. My two candidates are the HP Pavillion dv6000t or the HP Pavillion dv6500t. The problem I have is I am not sure what GPU is better for games like Counter-Strike:Source (and pretty much all other Steam/HL2 engine games), F.E.A.R. and obviously Battlefield 2. The dv6000t has a Nvidia GeForce Go 7400 (256mb) and the dv6500t has a Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS (313mb). I would like to play DX10 games when they start coming out in full swing but i heard that most DX9 games lag when you play on and 8 series card. Is that true or am I misled? I would like to get the dv6500t because of the obvious performance upgrade with the GPU and the processor but I don't want it to lag when I'm playing DX9 games like CS:S or BF2.

2gigs of ram and a Tsomething Core 2 Duo 1.8ghz
