Do you grow your own food/veges?  Do you keep a few chickens?  Do you ever go hunting/fishing for food?  Would you do any of this if you could?

Me, I have a lemon tree in the back yard, a few herb plants and this year will be planting some spuds, pumpkins, tomatoes, onions and chilli plants when the weather is right.  No space for any animals here, and I've yet to go hunting/fishing, though I'd like to; particularly pig hunting, and I'd also like to try diving for crabs/cray/paua at some point.

Mods please don't shift this to Junk Drawer, I'm interesting in the D&ST crowds answers.

I don't grow/catch any of my own food, but I'd like to go hunting.  I have been fishing before, but I suck at taking fish off of the hook.

We grow a modest garden, We grow cucumbers, tomatoes(both regular and cherry) green peppers, black raspberries and red raspberries, kiwi, cherries, and strawberries as well as peas and green beans.  Used to grow banana peppers before we realized no one in my famly really ate them .

I go hunting every now and then. I target Pigs and Deer for their meat but generally knock off a few goats because they are pests. It makes sure that you don't come back from a hunt not having killed anything.
Come to think of it next time I shoot a young goat I may as well take it's hindquarters, I've heard that roast goat can be rather nice.
Other than that we grow grapes, lemons and a collection of herbs in the back yard. Oh, and give that the sea is just accross the road fishing is also a good option. We get mostly Cod and sometimes Snapper and Kawhai near our place. Dragging a line off the back of a kayak as you're paddling along is a good way to hook a Kawhai, and the best bit is that they're such strong fighting fish that thy can tow the boat around a bit which is fun.

Our family makes pesto and grows tomatoes. We also have various herbs around the garden. at our grandparents house they have a full fledged garden; fresh strawberries, raspberries, rhubarb and zucchini.

If ever I have enough space to grow a garden when I get a house I will probably do so.
