There was a big bang at exactly 9am this morning.. And I mean big.. It wasn't thunder... It was something much bigger and probably the loudest sound I've ever heard and our house shook for like a minute afterwards. Any ideas what it was? I'm sure it will come up on the news soon.
did they try to blow up that failboat again?
Isn't our country just one big failboat?
And where abouts was this perputed big bang??
Somewhere, something incredible is waiting to be known.
Near Oxford.

About a week ago we had a storm roll through Indiana in the US. It wasn't a huge storm but right when it hit I saw a bolt of lightning and just sat there and waited for about 3-7 seconds and knew the thunder was going to be huge. When the sound of the thunder came through it shook the house and rattled the windows for probably 5 seconds. I started to wonder if it was going to stop and if not which windows were going to shatter first but none did. It wasn't the loudest thunder I have heard but probably the deepest bass sounding and longest lasting I had heard.
I was in florida a few weeks back and experienced a pretty big thunder storm. there were just constant lightning strikes all over the place, and as they got closer it got louder. At one point the worst of it must have been right near the hotel and like JG1567JG said, it shook the place and the windows were vibrating.
Probably not the most impressive lightning i have seen, although there were a couple of massive ones, but the thunder was probably the bests I have experienced.

The other day at around 11AM I heard a HUGE thunder-clap. Lasted around 15 seconds and it was damn loud...woke me up in fact!
yeah i heard something, it woke me up, well i didnt have much sleep anyway because the was thunder and lightning all night long.
pfft, awake at 9?
didn't hear it, but was nearly flooded.
