Can I use two LAN cards in my computer?
Onboard and PCI card together?
Because I want to have internet while I make LAN gaming with a few mates.

Thanks for suggestions

That's what I want to, but I haven't the knowledge of those things.
Btw thanks for the answer

EDIT: I don't want to give them internet connection, because I had bad experience with that.

im pritty sure its possible... dont see why not at alll, i have two LAN ports on my computer havent tried what you want to though, but im 95% sure it would work, best idea would be get a hub but because you have had bad experiences its up to you, but yeh i think it would work... A PCI card will be very cheap, so why not give your way a try.. and if it dosnt work cant go wrong wiht having a spare..

good luck

A PCI Ethernet card will be beneficial to your gaming anyway.  I put mine in and it dropped 15 ping and reduced lag when I disabled the onboard ethernet because the PCI card does the internet stuff for you and it does it better.  It makes it so you surf the internet faster and download faster too.

Get a router.  They usually have 4 switched ports on them, and the router can allow you to determine who can and cannot get internet access.  A simple MAC filter would take care of that.

You could do that. But I don't see why you would want to.

WRONG!

The only way you can connect two computers with out a router/hub/switch is by a little cable called a CROSS OVER!!!! i believe wires 3 and 7 are switch on one of the ends of the CAT3/5/5E/6 cabling..etc

Yeah there are some good and bad responses to this thread. Your best bet is to talk to the true network people that know network topology and aren't just pimping something.

Networks can be very complicated, and it sounds like you are trying to make them more so. Perhaps a quick talk to a specialist will fix all the problems you are having with the internet? I have had 5 people playing on a RR Lite account (Capped at 45 KB/s and 20 KB/S) without any problems, so you should not be having any problems sharing your net account with the LAN, assuming you have the correct hardware, such as a NAT router, or some sort of software solution.

If you only have two computers you can connect them directly with a crossover cable.  If you need to connect more than two computers you will need a switch or a hub.  I highly recommend the switch over a hub; hubs do not support full duplex.

I still recommend the router though.  Almost all of them have at least 4 switched ports on them, so that takes care of the switch part.  Now, while NAT isn't a firewall in and of itself, that happens to be one of the side effect benefits of the way NAT works.  Also, having a router can provide you far more control over your network.
