to all the ak101 people: have you ever used that gun on anything besides Karkand and IO? any map that you need a bit of range? sure up close that gun is fine but anything past close-quarters and that gun sucks a big one.
Maybe thats just you ? I used it on any infantry map and from time to time on vehicle maps and it is fine . The majority of ppl think that AK101 is innacurate at ranges more then 20-30m . They are plain wrong , AK may hit targets up to 100m ( effectively ) and you don't need more in BF2 as you have unlimitied numbers of snipers .pirana6 wrote:

AK-101 and 47, i prefer 47 its pure win on SF.
M16 is also a real fave now, not super reliable in CQC but the perfect medium and long range gun.

AK-47 & AK-101 are ownage tools. M16a2 is also a very good medic gun if you can use it properly (which is the main reason why people dislike this gun, you actually have to learn how to use this gun). L85 doesn't feel right for me, I do crap with it.
G36E is for the unskilled.

I prefer the M16 over the AK's. Easier for me. I am good with either, but I am better with M16. I played in a SF scrim on ghost town, and I had to use the G36E. Things a piece of shit. I use nothing but standard guns, and you can't shoot that stupid thing after shootin M16's and AK's. It's impossible x_x. BTW, G36E is DEADLY inaccurate after 3 bursts. When I used to use that, standin up runnin towards someone, thing wouldn't hit the hotel on karkand after the 2nd or 3rd burst.

I'd do that. You can stand 400 meters away, since you know, the AK101 is just that good. I can't seem to use it either, at least not anything past 80 meters. I like the L85 most just becuase of the scope and it is basically a sniper.I'm Jamesey wrote:

AK 101 is essentially a slightly less powerful but more accurate AK47.
I don't get why so many people say the AK47 is so good though, because it seriously isn't much different from an AK101, besides the inaccuracy

According to this, the AK47 is more accurate when running forward and strafing for the first 3 shots before its increased max deviation makes it slightly less accurate. Apart from that the accuracy's are identical, but the extra 1 damage of the 47 means you kill an armored soldier in 1 less shot and the reload time is nearly a second quicker. Its draw time is slower, but used as your primary weapon this shouldn't matter at all. Note: The wiki on BF2s has not been updated in a very long timeBlehm98 wrote:

there are many ways of making the AK's hit stuff from a distance. Although the 'e and 85 will be superior in long range combat, they wont be superior enough.

it also has larger crosshairs, making long range shots slightly harder...
in bfpro really the 47 is better because of the extra 2 points of damage putting you a lot closer to death, but i like the AK101 more anyway
G36c is awesome. Although AK101 is second none. But I guess I'd go with the G36c.

i wasn't talking about the 36E right there...
doesn't change the fact that you were wrong over just about everything in your paragraph though
and draw time does matter as your primary weapon because generally you're switching between grenade/medpack/rifle constantly

Dude the AK-47 is for sure better than the AK-101. it has smaller iron sights, easyer to aim. i have gotten people with one shot before, so that whole "it takes 3 shots to kill a full armored man". than play Iron Gator and see what im talking about. i have played the MECSF for about 300 hours (cant remember) and all the time i eather used the RPK-74 or AK-47. i would much rather that be stock MEC gun than the AK-101:-)
